Hi, can anyone help me with this from the Disney site please?

"I'm planning an Escape Wedding. Is there a "minimum stay" requirement? How many guests can I invite?
Disney's Escape Wedding packages require a minimum of a four night stay at an owned and operated Walt Disney World Resort. For additional guests, up to 18 maximum additional elements are at an additional cost."

Does that mean that all the guests must stay for four nights on Disney property, and what does the second sentence mean? I'm confused - again!

Thanks for your help x

only the bride/groom have to stay at a Disney hotel for a min of 4 nights, for an Escape wedding.
The maximum no. of guests for an Escape wedding is 18, but some locations only have a max of 10 people due to the size of the location - I'm sure someone will be along soon to confirm which locations this means. You will need to buy additional drink for guests over approx 6 (usually get approx 6-8 glasses from the bottle included).
Hope this helps!

No it means you and your DF need to book 4 nights at a disney hotel. You can have a total of 20 people including the two of you. That also means kids.

The minimum 4 night stay applies only to the bride and groom. That's the easy part to answer!;)

The additional guests part gets a little more confusing...

The basic Escape package provides a cake and champagne reception. The cake will easily serve 20-30 people (at the very least, probably more) however, they only give you enough champagne to serve 4-6 people. If you have more guests and you want to serve champagne to all of them (or anything to drink for that matter) it will cost extra.

That covers the basic package. Now, you can add dessert parties or something like that and those are based on a per person cost, I believe. I didn't do that so someone else can answer questions about that if you have them.

If you decide to do a lunch or dinner after your wedding, you will plan that on your own for the most part.

Hope that helps!

apparently, you can ask them to only half fill the guests' glasses, to stretch the one bottle!!! I'm thinking of doing this for a couple of reasons - firstly to cut costs as most of my guests don't particularly like 'champage' anyway and secondly, I don't want them to take their time drinking a full glass as Mickey and Minnie can't come until all the drink's gone!

Oh Crap...I forgot about that! I'm having Mickey come as a surprise to my guests (and my DF!)...I can just see it know..."Ahem...Do you all mind chugging your champagne now? I have a surprise for you." LOL!! OR...We could just have a drinking contest...yeah...whoever drinks the fastest, wins! :rotfl2:

That's a good idea!

Even though it was just me and DH for our wedding, I ordered extra champagne! :rotfl: I was surprised at how good it was! We saved one bottle and shared it on our first anniversary:love: It was a nice substitution for the cake we couldn't manage to save.

Also, I don't know if they do this for everyone, but they had some water, juice and sodas set out in a little bucket at our cake table. They knew we had no guests so I'm not sure why it was there, but it was and we didn't request it. Maybe it's because it was so hot that day:confused3

ooh, now that would be good, hope they do it for us too as I don't actually drink alcohol myself, and the men of the group are all beer drinkers, so really only my MIL and SIL would like the champage ( and it probably wouldn't be good enough for them;) )
:cake:So glad to hear the cake feeds plenty, as my sil,bil and dn could eat for England and I want to save some for me to enjoy later as it sounds delicious (we're having almond & amaretto, yum yum)

Thanks so much for the replies.

Phew, that's a relief! I don;t mind staying at a Disney resort at all and hopefully it will be for more than the four nights, but I didn't fancy having to tell our guests that they needed to fork out for that too! It's going to be expensive enough for their flights from the UK.

I'm sure there are loads of extra's you can add. I've seen some of them on the Disney site and, to be honest, most them seem way over-priced. I'm sure I'll change my mind when I come to seriously start planning though.

We are thinking of SBP, followed by lunch somewhere and then dinner. We want to keep it small and informal - not so much for the expense but because we have both done the big white wedding before (not to each other!) and had guests there that we didn;t know! I had a little old lady come up to me and announce that she was great aunt Vera who hadn't seen me since she changed my nappy. I didn;t even know I'd got a great aunt Vera!

We absolutely adore Disney and i can;t think of anywhere better to get married.

Incidentally, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here by saying 'we'. I'm asking my boyfriend to marry me on his birthday in Disney and I;m presuming he'll say yes!

Thanks again for your help, you are a great bunch in here!!

glad we could help put your mind at rest! Good luck with your proposal - and don't forget to stop by guest services for your free badge when he says 'yes'

I think Disney needs some punctuation help for clarity. It should have been "For additional guests (up to 18 maximum) additional elements are at an additional cost."

If you are planning a large Escape wedding, take a look at my thread that answers a lot of questions I had about them.

Good luck on your upcoming proposal!

Thank you for the replies.

Jil, that answers a lot of the questions I had! I was thinking of using the limo to transport people to the dinner reception and back to their resorts. I would imagine most of the guests would stay off-property with their own cars but I know some will stay on-site so that's a good option.

The info re restaurants is really useful. We won't have any kids at the wedding so would be looking at something 'grown up.' One of the problems we have is that we cannot stomach seafood and aren't mad keen on fish so some of the menus at the restaurants we were looking at seemed a bit limiting, but I didn't realise you could pre-select from a menu.

There's great tips on booking too, so I feel much happier at organising this when my time comes!

Thanks again x
