I just posted a question, only my second post ever, and received a very curt response and the thread was then closed. I am completely new to message boards- I have been reading the DIS boards for several years now, but have never posted anything, mostly due to the fear of what just happened. I have seen other posts that were much more controversial than mine on here before, with pages and pages of posts. I was not trying to be rude or controversial at all- was just asking a question about the biometric scanners. If I offended anyone, I am sorry. I can explain my position concerning the question I asked, but I did not get the chance to, as the thread was closed.

I guess I am just hurt and a little baffled. Can someone please explain this process to me and why the thread was closed?

If I recall correctly, DIS will not allow discussion of something that is a violation of Disney policy (such as giving or selling partially-used tickets to someone else). That is probably why the thread was closed, there's not really much else to say. Yes, it is against Disney policy. Yes, people do it. No, DIS will not allow that conversation to take place on the message boards. I don't think that the person responding was trying to be rude. You may have just caught that poster at a bad time.

I don't remember where I read about whether or not DIS will allow that discussion to take place. However, I do know for sure that the tickets are non-transferable. I suppose that how you want to deal with that rule is up to you.

okay, thank you. That rule does make sense, I guess I just did not think about it before I posted. I saw quite a few posts in my search that specifically talked about "sharing" tickets, or whatever we want to call that, but they were old.

Thank you for explaining that to me.

Hi valeriedml,

I just wanted to say that I am pretty new around her too and it sounds like you broke a rule without meaning too. Oh well, I am sure it has happened to a lot of other people!
I just wanted to say that I hope it doesn't scare you off and you keep posting!

I looked in the posting guidelines found here
http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm

and it doesn't say anything about converations that go against Disney policy. Maybe I read that on another message board??? I don't know... But please post again if you have another question, there are many friendly people who love to help!

Hello Valerie,

I closed your original thread due to the reasons stated above by the other posters, and after reading your question here, opened your other thread to respond to you there. I did not see the responses on this thread untl after I responded to you on your original thread.

The DIS has a good and respectful relationship with Disney, and we do not allow discussions how to bypass their policies on our boards.

Thank you for understanding. And now I'll close this thread. :)
