Not sure of my schedule -- can I book multiple dates?

I recently booked a trip this fall, using the free dining plan! :Pinkbounc

The problem is, I may need to fill in for a co-worker with a sick family member. In that case, I would need to go on different dates. Since I'm not sure what dates I can go, I'm thinking of booking two packages, about a week apart.

I'm wondering, is there any problem with booking two packages, and then canceling one once my dates are clearer? Will Disney let me do this? Does anyone think it's unethical? I understand that I will lose my deposit (or some of it) if I cancel less than 45 days out.

In May I booked POP Century for two nights, then rented DVC points for five nights, then booked POP for the last two nights. Since the DVC points were not in the CRO system, it would look like I had made two reservations for POP five nights apart. There was no problem and it was never questioned.. However, I've seen posts on here where someone couldn't decide between resorts or between the size villa they wanted and booked two resorts for the same time period and had the computer cancel one of them. They got upset about it, but the CM told them that if the computer picked up on reservations in the same name for different resorts, that it would automatically cancel one of them.

Since yours is for different dates you should be fine. As far as being ethical, from what everyone is saying only a certain number of MYW free dining pkgs. are being offered for each resort and some of those resorts have already sold their allottment. I've got a pkg for Sept, but I know if I read on here where people were booking multiple pkgs just because they weren't sure of their dates and then I couldn't get one because they were all sold out, I would probably get a little upset. They say that rooms booked with an AP discount go back into the general rooms if they are cancelled. I wonder if these free dining pkgs do the same thing? :confused3

No problem at all, the only thing you can't do is book two resorts during the same time. Have a great trip and enjoy the free dining plan. Le Cellier is only one sit down meal now. Yay! =)
