[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I was sitting here enjoying the photos of the construction at BLT.

Noticed the work being done on the entrance was wondering if they were going to be offering free valet parking to DVC Members?

“Disney Vacation Club Members staying at a Disney property will not be charged for valet parking at Disney's Beach Club, BoardWalk and Wilderness Lodge. Disney Vacation Club Members must show their DVC Member card or Walt Disney World Resort ID indicating that they are a "DVC Member" when leaving their vehicle to be parked in order to receive this service at no charge. Members will be charged for this service at any other valet parking operation at the Walt Disney World Resort."

Just wondering since it is DVC right?

I would assume so.

VGV is the only DVC resort without free valet parking (well, SSR and OKW don't even have valet parking),

Where is this information from? Does that mean DVC members pay for valet parking at AKL/V and if so, why?

Based on past resorts, you may assume we'll get free valet. However, since BLT is a totally separate building, maybe not. Will it have it's own check-in desk, or share with the current Contemporary desk? Being a separate building, it may not share the common resort expense of the valet services salaries/contract. We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks Mike but you know what happens when you ***/u/me right!

Guess time will tell.

Think it was an old post on allears. But good question will they have it at AKV?

They have had free valet at AKV ever since the Jambo house units opened. However, we don't know if there will be a valet stand at the Kidani addition. Most folks would find it inconvenient to valet part at Jambo house and walk to Kidani.

Thanks we will have to watch this.

I sure hope we don't loose yet another perk.

VWL is also a separate building from the lodge. It has the valet parking perk but shares this and the check-in desk with the lodge. The distance between the two buildings is not that great and I have never found this to be a problem. I actually like leaving the bustle of the front desk activities behind when I enter the soothing, quiet atomsphere of the villas building

Also they tried separate check-in at BCV last year but it was short lived. They went back to both buildings using the BCR front desk.

That is true. However, Kidani at AKV will have it's own separate check-in. But becaue the Jambo units share common area expenses with the AKL, and AKV is considered legally one resort, there is free valet at the original AKL building.

We just don't really know what will happen, yet, with BLT. If BLT shares common area expenses with the existing Contemporary, then we'll likely see free valet. If not, we may not see free valet.

Actually a question. I hate to admit it but AKL is the only DVC I have not stayed at,
is it more spread out than the other DVC resorts, except of course OKW & SSR?

There is a pretty good distance between Jambo (AKL) and Kidani. But Kidani itself is a single building, not separate Condo style units like SSR and OKW. It would basically be the equivalent of have a few DVC units in the suite section of the Contemporary tower, and then the bulk of the villas in the BLT tower. Only there are no DVC units in the Contemporary tower.

Just in case you missed them. They will have their own VP I would assume
The video will give you an idea of how far away it is. Starting some before the sign all the way to the front door.:thumbsup2

That's a Valet or bell hop window to the left of the Kidani entry?

BLT is supposed to use the CR check in desk, so I'm hoping we'll have the valet service.

There will be no separate valet, check-in or parking at BLT; those will be at the Contemporary and most likely it will have free valet there. If not owners would have a right to complain. It is a misconception that valet is "free" at the DVC resorts that have it. The reason you don't pay for it when using it is that you are, in fact, paying for the services (such as the wages of all those valet workers) through your dues. Charging the fee for valet when you use it would be double charging you for the service.

Yep I know about being double charged then.

Last trip they tried to get me for two days but got it corrected at the front desk after check out.
