I just called Disney reservations to see if there were any rooms available at CSR for Oct 2 through the 8th. Anyway the guy asked why I was going and I mentioned that I was hoping for free dining. He informed me that they won't be offering free dining after Sept 30th of this year. I know, from reading on here, that they have offered free dining in the past through the first few days in Oct.

Someone tell me not to stress!

hi , :goodvibes in 2006 we booked at the end of Free Dining
Sep 28 to OCT 8th and had free dining for are entire trip . This is what happen to us in 2006

this also worked the same for our trip Dec 12 -22 2009 booked the last days of free dining ,

So if FD end Sep 30 . and you booked for the 30 , for your first night you will have free dining your entire trip , into OCT

Again this is what happen to us .worked out great ,:thumbsup2:thumbsup
take care
and God Bless your trip

Mary;)

I certainly hope that I am wrong but I am almost positive that the last day of Free Dining from the Bounceback was September 30. I remember thinking it was earlier than usual. Historically, I THINK, the public free dining dates have been the same as the bounceback dates. Were last year.

Hoping I'm wrong!!

Don't stress!:goodvibes

I'm not sure what will happen this year, but I do know that we have had free dining three times during November (over Thanksgiving). We had it in 2006, 2008, and 2009. I am hoping for some pixie dust and that we will see free dining that late again this year!:wizard:

Last year FDP spanned into the first couple days of Oct, years before that it ended toward the end of Sept.

I usually book our trips so that our first day starts on the last day of FD...that way we are eligible for FD the entire trip into F&W and perhaps even Oct.

If it is any indication, the free dining PIN I received was from mid-Aug to the first week of Oct (I *think* it ended on the 2nd or 3rd.) However, as the time comes near, if they aren't booking like they want, then I think they will have to extend it. They have already announced kids eat free for Visa holders and I have seen reports of people getting free dining pins for spring/summer. So, there is a good chance they will need to offer something in oct, nov, dec and I wouldn't be surprised if it is free dining.

I hope free dining is offered in November!!! Or us receiving a pin....or a public discount....SOMETHING, ANYTHING...lol...crossing fingers!!! I'm not panicking just yet...:rolleyes1

I would say the CM was correct, and a stay of Oct. 2-Oct. 8 will not get you Free Dining if the promotion gets over on September 30. If it's like previous years, you had to be actually booked into a Disney hotel and arrive by the last day of the promotion..then you would get it for your whole trip. So if you checked in on September 30 for a 10 day stay, then yes you'd have free dining until October 9. But if you plan to check in on Oct. 2, you're out of luck - no free dining.

That's the way it's worked in the past.

The FD pin I received was through Oct. 2, 2010. I would guess a public offer would be for the same dates.

Unless it was a PIN code you have not had free dining three times in November.

Just to clarify for those wanting or hoping for FD in the latter part of the year;

2008: FD package deal was only offered to Disney Rewards Visa Cardholders
for stays 9/28/08-12/20/08.

According to MouseSavers, 2008 was the first time FD was ever offered during Sep-Dec season.

2009: FD package deal was offered to Disney Rewards Visa Cardholders AND the general public for stays 9/27/09-12/17/09...most likely due to the economy.

As far as FD in the Aug/Sep/Oct season, Disney has done this for several years due to the hurricane season...not economy.

First weekend in Oct was the date I had in mind for summer FD to end. Now keeping my fingers crossed for a general public release date!!! :)

...and hopefully it's with a minimum stay of only three nights, with 1 day park passes like they've done in the past!!!

When I was there this past Sept/Oct I booked the bounceback offer for this Sept/Oct. I really wanted to go Oct 2nd-10th 2010, but for the bounceback deal you had to be checked in by Sept 30th, which is on a Thursday. Because of our jobs we must vacation Sat-Sun. In order to use the bounceback I had to book our 2010 trip for Sept 25th-Oct 3rd. I mentioned to the CM that in the past free dining dates had always ended on a Sun, not a Thur and that I had really wanted to go a week later because we wanted the Food & Wine Festival for the entire week. The CM said that was exactly why free dining for 2010 was ending just a little earlier for 2010.:confused3

My husband has said that he would rather give up the free dining to get a full week of the F&W Festival, so when I went back in Dec, I used the 35% off bounceback that was being offered at that time, to book another trip for Oct 2010. If free dining does come out for the general public (or for Disney Visa holders), to include a check in date for the first few days of Oct I'll be changing switching ressies again.:rotfl: Right now I still have both free dining booked for Sept 25th-Oct 3rd and a 35% off moderate room for Oct 23rd-31st. I have one paid for and one being held by a deposit, until we make our mind up for absolutely sure. I want the F&W Festival, but hate to give up free dining, even for the 35% off room. I'll be canceling one of them though, before 45 days out and then just have WDW switch my money around. Depending on AP discounts, free dining, Chase Visa discounts, etc, who knows what we're going to wind up with, but at least we have something booked already with a discount and paid for. I feel for those still waiting and wondering.:headache:

.....

Oh I hope you are correct about this! Those dates would be PERFECT for my family and I!:cool1:

I sure have! And no PIN! We've been several times and I have never received a pin code. In 2006, the Disney Visa offer for our package was free dining. same with 2008 and 2009. They are listed as "package deals for Disney Visa holders" on Mousesavers, offered each year beginning in mid-August. These were then made public offers.

Oooooo, I want this PIN!!
I would think they would extend the offer thru to Oct 2 as the majority of their specials end on Saturdays. :confused3
But you never know just what Disney might do.
I can't even imagine how these boards would light up if they didn't offer FD. It's amazing how much we have all come to rely on this special.

I'm sorry, but that is incorrect. Last year, 2009, was the first time Free Dining was ever offered to the general public in november and December.

I have never heard of a general public free dining offer in November and December of 2006, but there could have been some very select pin codes sent out for those dates from Disney Destinations.

In September 2008, Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for select dates in October, November and December, 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22, 12/14-12/20/08, to be exact. These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. About two weeks after that Disney Visa sent out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in October, November and December, which we took advantage of. Those pin codes were not part of the regular Fall Dining promotion and there was no general public fd code offered for any of those dates.

So, if you had free dining in November of 2006 and 2008, it was through a select pin code offer or a Disney Visa offer, there were never general public free dining dates during those timeframes.

I dont know about any other year, but I do know in 2008 there was free dining to the GP in November. I remember this because I checked in on 11/25 and the offer was for people who check in before 11/22. I was going to change my dated to get the free dining, but when I called the airline, it was going to cost me about the same to change 6 RT tickets as the savings for the DP, so I didnt bother.

I cant tell you the exact dates of the offer, or when it was offered, but there was def. a free dining promo to the general public in Nov 2008.

You either had a Disney Visa Offer, an email pin code offer, a post card pin code offer, or there was a pin attached to your name in the WDW data base that allowed you to receive the free dining discount when you booked your November 2008 trip. There was no general public free dining offer in November 2008. You can confirm that on the Codes and Rates Board here on the DIS or Mousesavers.com or ask Dining Moderator TDC Nala.
