I should start by saying that I am a pretty picky eater. Like just the basics. I have a solo dinner reservation at the 1900 the night before I leave. After looking at the pictures of the buffet that another DIS'er posted, most of what is there, I won't eat. I currently have reservations at the following MK (or MK Resorts) places:

Crystal Palace (dinner)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (lunch)
Plaza Restaurant (dinner)
Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch)
Concourse Steakhouse (dinner)

Was planning on spending the morning to early afternoon at EPCOT, then head over to the Magic Kingdom for the evening. Oh, and I'm on the dining plan.

Where else would you recommend a picky eater dine in or near the Magic Kingdom? Chef Mickey's is out for dinner. Had a really bad experience there for dinner a few years ago (server ignored me the whole time I was there and only 2 characters flew by) and won't go back. Was planning on having lunch on my first day at the WCC. I'm now wondering if I should change that to an early dinner the night before I leave?

The Trails End Buffet at FW has very basic food. You might want to reconsider 1900. I am fairly picky and I thought it was excellent.

I agree with the previous poster. We ate at 1900 PF 2 years ago. They had a wide variety of different foods. DD, being a teen, is a very picky eater and really enjoyed the variety of foods. We thought the selection was better than CP. HTH.

I ate at 1900 with my niece in June. She's very picky and didn't each much. I wasn't crazy about the selection either, I'm not a fish eater. You may want to look at the GF Cafe.

I second Trail's End, if you're up for the boat ride. Not only is it good (and good for the non-adventurous), it is cheaper than a lot of WDW food. :)

Dont know about the comment about not being a fish eater by the earlier poster. If that was on the buffet it certainly wasnt an overwhelming part of the buffet since I cant even remember it being there. This was one of our favorite places with 4 picky eaters. Everyone found plenty to make them happy. We like really basic foods too and were really turned off by a lot of the 'better' restaurants because we just werent into the special fare offered but at 1900 we were perfectly happy. not that there wasnt plenty of stuff we walked right on past, but there was plenty to enjoy as well.

Terk-I was trying to remember exactly what I ate at 1900 PF. I think I had strawberry soup, caesar salad and some awesome pasta dishes. I think they even had a key lime something for dessert which I love. I do not eat any fish or seafood except crab. I do not remember there being a lot of fish the night we were there. As I said before, I like plain food and I thought it was the best buffet at Disney and I think we have eaten at them all! Good Luck with your decision.

How Picky TERK-1 ?

They have prime rib, mussels, pasta, fries, veggies, the only thing I thought could be improved would be the desserts!!

I donm't like seafood, or salad, and I thought the buffet at 1900 was great! its that and CP tie for my fav!

I'm not the worlds most adventurous eater, but I love 1900! Try it...if you can't find anything on the regular buffet, there's always the kids buffet with lots of pasta and chicken fingers.

I went to 1900 last Sept and there was not a big selection at all. I personally would pick a different place. The characters were amazing though and spent ALOT of time with my kids.

Do you like Italian? What about Tonys? If you like steak I hear that Kona is wonderful

How Picky TERK-1 ?

Very picky. For veggies, it's just corn, carrots, green beans and potatoes (either mashed, fried or baked) with nothing on them but butter. So most of the veggies that I saw photos for, I won't eat.

I like prime rib, don't care for mussels. Pasta, I like just spaghetti or elbow macaroni with just plain sauce. The sauce can have hamburg or sausage in it, but not much more. Don't like peppers or onions in it.

To eat more from the kids section than the adult section, seems like a waste of $$ to be honest.

we didn't care for 1900 either, if i were solo tripping (as i dream of one day) i'd skip it. the room feels cramped. the salads are great but nothing as good as some of the other options out there in the worldi'd look at almost any other non-buffet ts...gf cafe comes to mind and would also consider kona cafe at poly (its one of my favorites!)
