We are not staying at a Disney resort, but will be staying nearby at the Orange Lake Resort and I had a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering them please... :)

We rented a van, so when we go to the parks I was assuming we just parked at the magic kingdom and entered but someone said once you get there you then have to get on a monorail or ferry to get inside the park-is this true? are epcot, Hollywood studios and animal kingdom like this too?

Our very first day at the MK we have a breakfast reservation for Chef Mickey first thing at the contemporary. Is this near the MK? I mean will we have to drive to breakfast and then leave again to go to the MK?

Parking at the parks-the way I read this is you pay one fee per day and you can use it at any of the 4 parks that day-is that correct?

Last question, if you are at the parks and are NOT a disney resort guest are there shuttles or anything that can take you between the parks-say from Hollywood studios to epcot?

Thank you so much for any insight you can give into my newbie questions!!:)

Don't have the answers for you but wanted to say that we're staying there too. When are you going?

At MK, yes you have to take the ferry or the monorail once you park your car after you pay to park - one plus to staying onsite and using WDW transportation. Not sure about the park to park paying/not paying though. The other parks having parking lots nearby, but you have to take a parking tram to get you up to the main gate area if you park far away. Each park has a way to get to another park - either by bus or monorail.

The MK parking lot is across the lake at the TTC so you will have to take boat or monorail. Other parks parking is right outside though you may want to take a tram from parking lot to the front.

Just arrive early at TTC and take monorail to Contemporary,Parking at the parks-the way I read this is you pay one fee per day and you can use it at any of the 4 parks that day-is that correct?Yes just save your reciept and show at the next booth

There are some great ways to get from Orange Lake to Disney and there are some really really bad traffic ways as well. Ask at the front desk when you check in for advice or search the boards for threads on Orange Lake- I know people have discussed it before.

We are owners at Orange Lake and love it. Have a great trip!:goodvibes

we've been 4 times and never stayed onsite - timeshares for 3 of them.

One big thing: if you do park hop between epcot and Magic Kingdom, park your vehicle in the lot where you will end your day, then use the monorail between the parks.

Orange Lake is great, stayed there 2 years ago as the first use of my Wyndham timeshare (traded through RCI).
Other than Magic Kingdom, if you get to the park early enough, say a half hour before rope drop, you can get a parking spot close enough to the entrance to walk. That way you don't have to wait for a tram.

When we went 2 years ago, we stayed off site. As long as you had your parking ticket for that day, you could drive from park to park, you can also park at home park and hop to another on their transit. At that time, on your parking ticket you got a coupon good at a particular store at the park where you got a particular pin free (different one each day), yeah the pin might not have been one you wanted and most of the CM will tell you that they don't trade for the free pin of the day but it is a way for your kids to start a collection.
