Has anyone heard what the dates for the Halloween party will be? We are arriving Sept. 7 and will be there till the 14th. I have searched for the dates and info to purchase tickets and didn't know if I was just over looking it :)

Based upon the Sept. 2014 MK calendar, Sept. 9 appears to be the beginning
date for MNNSHP. That calendar is viewable at www.wdwmagic.com. Noticed Sept. dates with 9a. to 7p. operating hours. Those are the dates for MNSSHP at the Magic Kingdom.

I hope so...

Halloween anything in August in Florida is ridiculous beyond question.

Has anyone wore a Polyester cape and vinyl mask at 8 pm when it's STILL 84 degrees in Florida?

Well...I have (not the mask...but full Captain Hook garb)...on a nice breezy October 25th night when it was 83...and it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my entire life.

Really...these things are becoming cliche anyway...please don't ask them for more. Just enjoy splash mountain in August... The common sense approach.

Does anyone have any idea how busy Sunday nights are for the MMNSSHP? I know weekends are usually busier but I was hoping Sundays are more like week nights
oh just in case, I'm thinking of the Sunday after the ToT ten mile race, so that may play in to the crowd levels

We went to the Very Merry Christmas Party this year on a Friday night (I am pretty sure) maybe Saturday. It was very crowded. I am waiting until we arrive to buy our tickets, it also rained (like torrential downpours) the night we attended. It was an awful expiernece. There were a lot of things that they could not do! Such as the stage show at the castle. No characters out, the parade was cut a little short. Not anyone's fault, just wrong night, crowd level seemed extremely high! I suggest waiting till that week (at least you will know the weather) before you purchase tickets!

Looks like 8/29 and 9/1 are both still showing a 7pm close time for MK, so MNSSHP on Labor Day weekend is not out of the question just yet. Unless anyone knows of something else going on those nights?

Either way, OP, looks like you should be good-to-go. The "official" party dates should be released soon. Have fun! MNSSHP is always a blast.

Some posters had speculated that the early closures over Labor Day weekend were for CM training/parade practices/etc. for the upcoming Halloween parties. But that just wouldn't seem to make good business sense on Disney's end to close MK early two nights on a holiday weekend.

I have seen a lot of guesses and looking at those, it looks like the 9th and 12th may be the only days during your trip. Of course this is only speculation, but a friend that goes every year uses the site he found them on and says the dates are usually pretty spot on.

Good luck finding a day that works.

Is a MNSSHP ticket all you need to gain access to the party or do you also need a regular park ticket as well?

All you need to access the party, is the ticket
To the party. The party begins at 7pm, so with said ticket, that's when you arrive, although I swear we got in before 7pm when we went last year. ...we did Animal Kingdom during morning to mid afternoon.

They will let you into MK at 4 p.m. with a party ticket.

The parties can't start until after Night of Joy weekend due to the use of the castle stage.

Josh at EasyWDW is generally a pretty good resource, and even he thinks the parties will starting over Labour Day weekend:

It looks like Disney is going to extend Mickey’s Halloween Party into August with dates on Friday August 29th and Monday September 1st. Disney may be looking to capitalize on slightly heavier crowds over Labor Day Weekend. The Halloween Party dates are not official and the 7pm closes on those two dates could be due to something else. Either way, expect a 7pm close and no evening entertainment during regular hours on August 29th and September 1st. Night of Joy returns on September 5th and 6th, which is the reason for the 7pm closures on those dates.

Okay, that sounds right, all things considered a pretty solid deal, to enter at 4pm and stay until 1am...for $50. Not shabby. We had a complete blast, and are really bummed we won't be attending this year. Can't wait until 2015 though!

Ok, I've never been and will be down there on the 10/5 weekend. We did not plan on going to the Halloween party but did plan on going to MK that day.

How does it work if you're in the park but do not purchase the party tickets. I've heard one person say, you stay in the park but can't ride the attractions, purchase merchandise or food.

I've had another say, that cast members look for those without bracelets and escort you out?

Does anyone who has been there before know????

They start escorting guests without the bracelets towards the exit around 6:50 or so. After 7pm you are not allowed in the park without the bracelet that shows you purchased the party tickets.

Funny story... We went one year and as we were collecting our candy bags we saw some of our best friends being escorted towards the exit, their son who was 4 at the time kept asking why his buddy (my son) got to stay and he could not. We joke about that everytime we see each other.
