I have had a pretty hard year and have been thinking of doing a solo dis vacation in October. My first time alone but would really enjoy it I think. I have not stayed on property in years but wanted to stay at POP for the transportation. Feel safer if I am alone. So I open my email a couple of hours ago and see a pin. It does not specify how much of a discount but for 5 nights it was $546.74 tax included. Could I have done better?

POP for Oct. 22nd leaving on the 27th. 5 nights. It was for a standard room. Without discount I see the room goes for about $100.00 a night. I believe I am paying around 96.00 and a little more for that Friday. I usually get the good discounts in the mail once or twice a year but always heard about pin codes people received in their emails. I jumped on it to soon. IF I get a better deal do you think I can change it? And now that I used the pin I am thinking I will not get any more offers.

When considering pricing, remember tax may not always show in an advertised price. You see what the current booking cost is - go in to make a reservation online for the same time period to see how it prices out.

You can add a code for a better deal. One idea is to let a reputable agent rebook it for you using your current pin. If your agent is good, he/she will automatically try to apply any better deals that come out before your check in. My partners and I do it all the time! BEWARE: savings on room charges lowers the agent commission so a lot of agents don't look for additional discounts. A lot do, it's great for business
