We will be there for the Mickey's Halloween Party and wondering if it is worth it to go to? My dd will be only turing 2 while there. She is allergic to dairy also, so can't have chocolate anyway. Do you think it is worth it? :confused3 We were planning on spending the day in that park anyway and it closes at 6 due to the party. Also, my birthday is that day and we have ressie's for CP around 5 anyway.

I think it is worth it. They have a different parade on those nights. You get a free picture taken. The kids with have activities to do like coloring stations. The rides are still open with less of a crown(especially later in the night)so maybe you can do a different park that day and go to the party at night. It is also fun for the kids to see all the different costumes that the characters wear. I say give yourself a birthday treat and go. You can still trick or treat - then use the candy to give out on Halloween night(if you go before then). The candy will never go to waste. You will always fins someone who will eat it.

What is your daughter's schedule like? At barely two, my DD(now 8) would be ready for bed by 7pm after a full day in the park. I don't think it would be fun for anyone if she's tired and cranky. My DD also didn't ride an awful lot at that age.

My DD went to her first MNSSHP at six and loved it! She was old enough to stay up, ride everything, appreciate the different parade, etc. She liked it even more last year at 7. My Dsis brought her boys last year--4 and almost three. They had fun, but faded and left early. I don't think that the party really registered for them at all. I've never heard them mention it when they talk about going to see Mickey.

I see that it's your first trip. If this is your once in a lifetime trip and you're very interested in the party, maybe you should give it a try. Otherwise, I think you all would enjoy it more when DD is a little older.

If you do skip it, linger over your CP dinner, which is great. That will be a nice way to end your birthday at MK. Have a magical first trip.

We will be there over MNSSHP also, but we aren't going to do it. I don't think paying the admission for me and my DH would be worth it. I'd rather use the money for something else. The park is open until midnight, but my daughter who is 2.5 would never last that long - and she definitely is a night owl. I figure that we will be in the park all day so we won't need to go at night. Have a great time if you decide to go.

We went last Oct and DD was about 20 months, she liked it. We ate at Cindy's before the party and dressed the kids up in costume. She loved the candy, we got a lot of non-cholcolate type candy so there will be a lot to chose from for your DD. I do suggest that you hang out at the hotel and get a good nap in before you head over to your dinner, and just take it easy at the party and make sure to get your free picture. All the extra characters in costume and the fireworks were well worth the extra money IMO.

We need to talk, Noelle!
We will be there this Halloween, and our DS will be 2 ten days after that. We are also dairy-free. :D From what I hear, the candy they've been giving out is the non-chocolate kind, but that could be wrong and/or change, of course. My feeling is that there is no reason she wouldn't enjoy the party, unless she has a really early bedtime and wouldn't normally be awake during those hours! (My son is a night owl and will almost certainly shut the place down, LOL.)
IMO the bigger issue is the time crunch. If you're planning to do the park that day, then go to dinner, then stay for the party, it might be too much! Our plan is to hang around our resort pool that morning and then head over to MK at 4 pm (they let people in at that time with just their party tickets)! We'll grab a late lunch/early dinner somewhere around 3 and then snack our way through the MK! I don't think we would attempt to go allllllllllllllll day and night plus squeeze in a TS restaurant. JMO, though. Good luck!

We'll be heading down for MNSSHP with a two year old as well. Our DD is a night owl so we're planning on going the day we arrive. We should be getting to our resort around 2, we're hoping but not counting on our room being ready, we'll hang out, grab lunch at the resort, hopefully be able to take a quick nap and head over to MK around 5 or 5:30. We'll play for an hour or so and then maybe grab another bite to eat then if we're hungry or wait and grab something later on.

This will our first MNSSHP but we figure she'll love it.

went last year and my 3 yr old hated.. she was so scared with all the scary music going on.. she thought the candy was ok... she tells me and her Daddy she doesn't want to go back around Halloween... oh well.. she does want to go at Christmas time.. I think its the best time!

I've been to 3 Halloween parties (4th this October) and my girls were 3 and 6, 5 and 8, and last year 6 and 9. (They also did MVMCP at ages 1 and 4, 2 and 5, 4 and 7, and 6 and 9).

They LOVE the party. There's nothing scary. They love just the idea of being at MK for trick or treating and dressing up.

They love the parade, the special Hallowishes fireworks, trick or treating, seeing characters in their costumes, the amazing decorations and music you won't see any other place (even at MK during the day), the short lines for rides.

My DD actually did the best at the parties at age 2!

We took DD to MNSSHP when she was 13 months old, she napped a while in her stroller and woke up again later to catch the fireworks (which she loved!) I wouldn't say there is anything to scare a little one.

But, we just relaxed all day and went into the park for dinner ready for the party. We didn't attempt doing a park during the day and at night, too. :teeth:

I debated for awhile over taking my DD(3) and DS(19months) when we go this Sept. I decided that it sounded like too much fun to pass up. We are going to do as people suggested and just hang out at our hotel that day and relax and take (hopefully) a long nap. One huge up side is that you get that day's park ticket to use an another day. Also, the MNSSHP ticket will get you in around 4:00 if they do like they have done in the past. That way, you can still have your dinner. :thumbsup2 BTW, my kids are also night owls, especially the 3 year old. We probably will not stay until midnight only because poor old Mommy and Daddy will be wore out!
