Ok, so I'm at work yesterday. I work in an emergency dispatch center that sits on top of a jail, the county court house is right behind the building I work in. I was getting ready for lunch and we see 3 bridesmaids. The woman I was working with and I thought...How sweet, wedding. Come to find out there is a gazebo behind the court house-how appropriate. Well, I have to remind you that where I work is in a small town...and the wedding party proved it. They had purple slip dresses on with spagetti straps...One BM was wearing her black bra!!!
No ones shoes matched.
I could understand if they all went with white or black, but there was a nice mix. There was one BM who had her hair done...and on top was a full bouquet of flowers.
the 3 flower girls were adorable
The bride gets ready to walk around the corner toward the gazebo and the wind kicks up. Then, about 3-5 minutes later we hear the thunder and see the lightening...
The entire wedding party comes running from around the corner-at this point it was DOWN POURING! The bride had her dress scooped up and over one arm with her husband (to be I'm guessing b/c they really didn't have time to say I Do) on her other. People started pouring into cars to get out of the rain.
The funny part of this story, was the officiant. He had his book over his head to stay dry and took the longest to get to the parking lot
I wonder how many times this has happened to him b/c he seemed really relaxed about the whole thing.
I felt bad that she didn't have a rain location. I guess we don't know how lucky we are to be able to have a Disney Wedding and the piece of mind knowing that if we have an outdoor wedding-the make sure there is a back up plan.
I don't know what happened-I had to get back to work...but it broke up the day a bit.
I hope that the rain was for good luck and that it will negate the superstition that it is bad luck to see the bride before she walks down the aisle...b/c like I said, they didnt have time to say i do. Or even better...I hope they dont believe in superstitions!
