Not So HAPPY LIMO!!!!!!

we used Happy Limo for our 9/11 cruise. picked us up at our airport hotel, took us to the port, the picked us up after the cruise and took us to Pop Century!
Large van for 7 of us. Very clean. While the driver was not overly talkative, he was always on time. And when he picked us up from the port, we were all very thirsty and so he stopped at a store for us to get pop/water!:)
Would use them again! Oh, our driver was Fernando, just remembered his name!!

This sounds like a company that we used years ago, Florida Towncar. They started out great and ended up -------- who knows, maybe Happy Limo????

Wow! I'm sorry to see all the bad experiences! We just used them this past weekend (WDW area, not a cruise) and had great service.

Personally I think this is just part of the town car business. The owners seem to hire independent contractors and you get what you get. The reputations go up and down. We used FLTours, had no problems. BUT, I still was nervous with the whole deal, paying upfront and the tip too just seems shady but its part of the limo Business.

The flip of the coin is renting a van from alamo whivh I have planned this year but know I live in mortal fear of waiting hours to get it!!

We have used FL Tours 3 times now and our 3rd time we had a similar incident w/ the driver taking us to Ron Jons. He was dressed professionally but did not speak English well, did not offer to help w/ our bags, did not know how to use the DVD player in the van which was a disappointment and did not know how to get to Ron Jons. When I asked him if he knew where it was, he said ...NO, but we will find it together. I felt very uncertain w/ a driver like this..the blind leading the blind. He also spoke on his cell in his own language most of the ride which I thought was both rude and unsafe...personal call. Anyway, I expressed my concerns to Andy after our return and he apologized and and said it was taken care of..lead me to believe the guy had been fired or demoted...not sure but that was the feeling I got. Andy is the owner and he is great and very professional. All it takes is a few unprofessional employees to ruin things...

We've also used Happy Limo in the past with no problems, until our trip in late August. Our driver was 40 minutes late, had to keep calling the office, was told "he's 5 minutes away", "he's pulling around", etc. I thought it was a fluke 'til I started reading more posts on the boards about their service going downhill.
The driver was apologetic but his story didn't match what HL was telling us on the phone. We'll use another company next time.

Sorry to heap more on the negative pile, but it looks as if a pattern is developing here. :(

I just got back Oct 3rd from a WDW trip. I called Happy Limo because I thought that they were going to be cheaper than TTC. WELL.... because we were going to be dropped off at OKW and picked up at BWVs they said we had to be charged two one way fees. And their web page now says you pay tolls? Tiffany ended up being the better deal in that situation. BUT we ended up leaving a day early before "Jeanne" visited WDW and Tiffany was overbooked the day we left so I booked Murray Hill. They were cheaper than both and I would definately use them again!

Just my two cents.

I was also on the 10-2-04 cruise with vidoman.

I used Tiffany Towncar for the return trip from port to MCO. I was aware that there was an accident on 528, but had only a ten minute delay in my pick up because of it.

I have used Tiffany Towncar many times and have always had reliable service...so if anyone is looking for an alternative towncar service, Tiffany is my recommendation.

we have happy limo booked for our 10/17 cruise!! We have never used them before.. What a way to start and end your vacation!!!

We had this happen to us at home once but the limo never came.... We were stuck taking a cab home from Logan airport for the nice fee of $100.00...

This driver was late due to the fact that part of the bridge on bee lin expwy(528) collapsed and all the traffic going to cocoa beach was re-routed. This information can be verified and was announced on the radio.

Hi this is Shirley and I am having a problem with the above response - I do not know anything about HL, but I would like to know WHEN was it that 528 collapsed? Norm and I travel 528 every day and no - no bridge that we traveled over collapsed - now there was a bad accident last week where the NEW construction is being worked on and 5 men were hurt when the NEW construction did have some problems - it did hold up traffic but never rerouted - I know that the 5 men are critical but from what I understand this happened during the week. Now maybe I missed something, but living right here it sure would be hard to miss - now I know that during the hurricanes, there was a lot of confusion, nerves were on edge, everyone here that were new to the area were scared and searching for ways to get out of harm's way, the hysteria and everything that goes with what we were going to deal with, I can not describe, but if you screw up at least step up to the plate on any mistakes or misunderstandings - I will say this an I know it to a sure thing - I had a family that was dropped off at the Radisson that had HUGE signs that couldn't be missed "MANDATORY EVACTUATIONS" and yet they were dropped off and panic set in - their limo had left and they had no idea where to go or what to do - Susie just happened to have my cell phone number and we were able to get her and her family out of here - the name of that limo was HL --I am not going to flame HL for I don't know the complete story and there is always 3 sides to a story - yours, mine and the truth (my dad always told me that) - I do resent saying that a highway was closed when I know it wasn't - I am going to check on this Monday just to make sure I haven't been in LaLa land.
thanks for allowing me to express my feelings on this

I would like to add that I had the opportunity to work with Videoman several years ago and unfortunalty his very expensive basket completely disappeared - Videoman was kind and very very understanding as I spent a week trying to find out what happened to his basket (it ended up in someone else's room and they never returned it) so for him to be this upset, than I have to understand his feelings - as I said he was great with me and consoled me when I was so upset about his basket getting lost.

To everyone out there - owing a business here, I know what it is to make mistakes and I know how I feel when I do, this is why my intentions were not to flame HL, but find out the real reasons for the mix-ups - I am glad to hear some are giving them a chance - I just feel that if someone makes a mistake, step up to the plate and take responsibiliy - I know that during the Charley, Frances and Jeanne, I made up baskets and wedding flowers etc that were suppose to be delivered to all the ships and tried my best to find a way to get them to everyone, but it was impossible - I felt terrible that I had to disappoint these children - I stayed in constant contact with DCL, websites etc to try and learn what the status quo were of the ships and even tho it was fusterating etc, I didn't find out about the port opening up again until late the day before - then the scramble began again - we kept getting mixed signals - this is to just explain a little of what was going on here - the thing I didn't understand was the collapse of the bridge on 528 which in living here, I didn't understand the comment - if using this as a cover up - yep then I am highly insulted - again I am one that believes in standing up to the plate, even tho I am cringing inside and there are times it isn't my fault, but still cringe - anyhow the above is just my thoughts and my feelings.

videoman....we had some what of the same experience with Happy Limo. Late at every pickup and not a real clean limo. The drivers were friendly, but they always lied saying...Ohhh I was here the whole time! Nice try!! Needless to say...We never used them anymore.... We now use Quicksliver-Tours. They are extremely professional! We were down there during Frances....and will all the changes...they were great! NO problems, and very clean cars! We got a 10 passanger van...since there was 5 adults and so much luggage! :o lol

We had PLENTY of room!

Actually the prices we paid was quite good as well! I will never use another company!

Travis

p.s....if you want the web address....PM me :)

Based on the recent problems, we will be canceling Happy Limo. Now the question, we are a party of four adults with a 7-days-cruise-worth of luggage... It seems that a "luxury van" will be our best and least expensive choice. There have been lots of good posts about Southern Elegance, but they don't have vans...towncars or limos only.

Have any of you used a van and from what company?

Thanks for the info!

We cancelled Happy Limo for our upcoming cruise. When they asked why, I told them that people on this board said they were not reliable. He tried to appear surprised and then responded...get this " No one is perfect" "No Limo company is perfect." I said that attitude was not comforting, imagine you doctor saying that as you were going under for surgery.

Amymouse,
Please be sure to post. We also have reservations with HL for our January cruise. I don't want to cancel with them if this was just a fluke. But, I don't want to be left stranded either.

We have used Tiffany Towncars many times and have always been very satisfied with their professionalism.

We had Happy Limo for the same cruise as Videoman and although they were late (as a result of a traffic accident we were told), they were professional, although not overlyfriendly, but we had a pleasant experience.

I did speak with SE before when I was considering switching my booking to them after reading horror stories about Happy Limo with the hurricane dramas and the guy I spoke with was awesome. He was very honest with me and said he wants my business, but it was a nightmare around that time and I shouldn't change my ressie to them based upon that. But, I will book with SE in the future because of this conversation. Shows good character!

As I have posted before we were left stranded on 9/11 and had to hire a cab to get from port to airport. Happy limo never apologized, nothing. Since they insist that you pre pay we waited 3 weeks for a credit. It took 4 phone calls to get them to issue credit. Amex was the card I had used and they posted the credit immediately once it was issued. Never again.

hi

i have used southern elegance several times and will use them again for my upcoming cruise

never had any problems and george the driver was polite and extremely helpful

sorry you had such a poor experience with happy limo
