Not seeing our Virgin American flight anymore

Virgin American will start flying from San Francisco to Orlando during the summer. We bought airfare for our October trip because it was non-stop and the price wasn't bad (for a nonstop). Now I'm not seeing any flights going from SFO to MCO. Anyone have any idea why it's not showing up now? Just for fun, I would check the flight through Travelocity every once in a while, but it's not showing up there. Orlando isn't showing up on the VA website either.

Is this a cause for concern?

I would definitely call them.

On their website it says:

City News
Service between Toronto (YYZ) and San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) begins on June 23, 2010.
Service between Orlando (MCO) and San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) coming soon.

Sounds like a delay.

I saw a post title earlier today - either here or Theme Parks board, I think - that said something like "Virgin flights from SF postponed". I can't find it now though and I didn't read it.

Thanks - I found the thread on the Budget Board. They're not getting their new planes in time for summer flights. They may have them sometime in the 4th quarter of this year, which could include my Oct flights.

I won't panic yet, but dang, I want to fly non-stop!

United flies non-stop.

Make alternative plans. The start-up has been delayed indefinitely, although Virgin America is hopeful to start by the end of the year.

Even then, I am willing to bet that Virgin America was seeing weak results. Very odd move since Virgin America could have pulled frequencies from higher-frequency routes and it is still going ahead with launching Toronto around the same time.

That basically says advanced bookings sucked.
