We are finally getting Wegmans in Massachusetts later this year and I have heard they are an awesome company to work for. Anyone work for them, specifically Moms with little kids? DD is starting kindergarten in September and I am thinking of going back to work. Thanks!

my brother works for them. He found out last year he had cancer and they have been WONDERFUL with him as far as taking time off to care for himself!

I don't work for them but know plenty who do. They were just voted the 3rd best company to work for in the U.S. People who work there love it. Wegmans is from Rochester so we shop there all the time and it's a great place to shop. The employees are friendly and helpful. I'm sure you'd love it there and they would treat you very well.

Wegmans is opening a lot of stores in PA. I was just in one and saw a former coworker running the register. From editor to SAHM to Wegmans employee. Her youngest just entered K.

Works for me! I target companies to work for and they are #1 if and when I need a new job.

I haven't personally but FIL was one of their VPs, meat merchandising, DH worked there throughout high school and college. All of DH's 7 brothers and sisters have worked there at least in high school. Lots of BIL/SILs work/ed there, a couple met there and ended up getting married. My ILs are a Wegman's family. I've heard nothing but good things about working there. They seem to be very accommodating with schedules for the nieces and nephews who are in college. I don't think the benefits for the part-timers are probably very good, but I know FIL had and still has excellent benefits.

I worked for them when my kids were little and they were so flexible with my schedule. We hadn't moved yet and the nearest Wegmans was 5 minutes away. My husband worked crazy hours and they worked around that for me. Even though we have relocated, I love Wegmans so much I travel 45 minutes to do all of my grocery shopping at our nearest store!

I know a mom that works at Wegmans. She works in the coffee shop. She loves it.

I worked there in summers while going to college, after college while searching for my career, and after I got a teaching job because I still needed more money to make my student loan payments. They were wonderful, flexible and I would work for them again in a heartbeat if the need arose. I am encouraging my daughtere to look there for part time employment while in HS. From my experiences, Wegmans rocks!

I do.

I obviously like it...I still work here 23 years later after starting as a 15 year old cashier.

I work in the Corporate Office now, since college. DH and I met here and he proposed to me in front of 150 of our Wegmans 'family' at our department Christmas party 12 years ago.

They allowed me to adjust my schedule to Part-time when ds was born 9 years ago.

Overall - wonderful company. Definitely feels like a family.

We're all very excited to be expanding to Mass - hope you'll join our family!

Wow! So nice to see many of you are "right in my own backyard" - LOL! I worked there right out of high school many, many years ago. They were just beginning to build the superstores. I know many people who work there. They are flexible and treat their employees well. I like that they give so much back to the community. And, there are so many now! I can be at 3 different ones in 5-7 minutes - YAY!

I shop at the Warrington, Pa Wegmans and the employees seem genuinely happy to work there.

Yeah, I'm in MA now, used to be in PA and I miss Wegmans. Where is it going to be?:thumbsup2

My Dad has worked for Wegmans for my entire life. He really enjoys his job and on the parent side, they worked with him so that he never missed a Daddy and Me thing and all those other parent events for all three of us girls.

Thanks for all the feedback! For nearly 8 years I worked crazy hours for a start-up company- it was not very family friendly. They were great at scheduling meetings from 5-8pm after working all day! :headache: When I became a SAHM I swear it took me a year to decompress! DH started a new job a few months ago (he was only home Fri-Sun), so now I am looking but willing to wait until fall when DD starts school. Wegmans opens in the fall so this might be just what I am looking for!
