NOT LEAVING. Trip cancelled

I hope you are all feeling better soon. I was so sad when I read your thread title, cannot imagine how you must be feeling. :grouphug:

So Sorry, hope you are all better soon, but at least it was before you left. We went last year in January and the first day there as we walked out of the gates DD said her throat hurt, I figured it was a cold, what followed was four days of fevers, sore throats et al. When we got home we were both so sick finally went to the doctor and discovered we had streph. So as disappointing as it is, at least it wasn't while you were there.

Reschedule ASAP, even if it is a ways away, it will help.

Yes... after reading your replies about getting sick at the park, we were lucky. Doesnt seem so at the time, but you're right.

I'm so sorry for you, that just stinks. Hope your next trip is amazing and makes the wait worth it!

Sorry to hear that happened! I have had that happen before, when my sister got food poisoning of some kind, and it happened last June.

Hope you plan a replacement trip soon, and hope they get better!

Heartbreaking is exactly the right word for your situation... My heart goes out to you all... I will keep you in my thoughts and hope you re-book soon.

hugs and pixie dust,
Kay

I wish Mickey would send my DD a get well card, but I bet this happens to all too many poor little sickies.

Maybe a Disboard member who will be there this week could make that happen? I'd ask if someone would be willing to send a postcard from Anaheim.

I am so sorry. When I was a kid I got sick many times either before or during DL trips. My parents were a bit crazy and would take me anyway! LOL It was strange but I'd usually feel well enough on the days we were at the park, talk about Disney magic, but I'd be sick in the car all the way down, and sometimes on the way home! LOL

A few years ago I woke up with this HORRIBLE sore throat thing the morning we left. I was pretty miserable on the trip, and ended up passing it on to everyone else too! I've also had a regular cold on a DL trip. So I've had my share of sickies on vacation. It's my worse nightmare now, and I try SO hard to keep everyone well right before leaving. But it happens! Hope you'll get to reschedule!

I'm so sad and sorry that your trip was cancelled! That's my worst nightmare...my kids have had stuffy noses all week, and I felt lousy & feverish yesterday, but we're trying to hold strong until we leave tomorrow.

I hope you can reschedule ASAP!!! :sad1:

I hope your family is feeling better. It's very disappointing to have to cancel a trip. But hopefully you can reschedule soon. Planning my next trip always uplifts my spirits.

How are you all feeling now? Any better?

Yes, much better now thank you. We spent some time trying to make our DD 8th birthday a fun one even though... we flew kites, went to the zoo, etc etc.... I was hoping Mickey himself would walk around the corner at any minute, but no magic for us this year. Today our cell rang while we were outside doing yard work (and we have horses so sometimes the yard work is stinky) it was the shuttle reminding us of our 5:15 AM ride to the airport. Bitter-sweet. We are not at DL, but we can sleep in tomorrow!

We'll get ourselves down there sooner or later.
Maybe Santa will take us in December. :santa:

That sounds perfect - hit it when the kids are out of school and when your weather there has been cold long enough that you're really sick of it already! Then we'll just pray that the snow and blizzards allow you to get out quickly and safely. Guess that's another consideration for you driving through, isn't it? I-80 shuts down fairly regularly during that time (we just moved from that area.)
