We've always had a huge bounce house for grad parties but not this year due to covid. Trying to come up with something else that would be fun but safe. Any ideas?

How many people? Is it high school grad? If so, I like the bbq and outside movie idea.

It's a high school grad party. Only family (20 including my 6) and about five friends. Spread out arrivals so we don't have large groups. Tables spaced all over the yard, masks and social distancing required the whole time. My family gets it, so do Caroline's friends. Food is all set-very safe, food in individual dishes, all cold food, bottled water, small bags of chips, Subway wraps. I like the idea of a movie night. We have a bonfire with widely spaced seating for the kids at night. She's having 3 friends sleep over-each in their own tent in the yard. The yard games make me nervous due to everyone handling the game pieces.

I was thinking of bringing someone in to the party-was going to have a mentalist (mindreader) but he was booked. Looking for something along those lines.

Forgive my ignorance...I presume you mean a High School Graduation? A bounce house?
I've never seen a bounce house at a HS graduation - meant for the graduates? And not little kids? - didn't know that was a thing! My kids graduated HS 5 & 7 years ago so maybe this is new?

Beer pong

That's how I remember my HS graduation...

Yes-high school grad. My sons, 2013 and 2017, had a huge inflatable jousting game. they had a ball. My daughter reminded me that she didn't have any type of inflatable-didn't want one.

I would agree on not having one at all but maybe not because the word "party" was used. My assumption that a bounce house means a decent amount of people anticipated. If it were me that's a lot of people, even staggered. What would make it at least marginally better (yes that sounds strange to say) is if people who were not actively eating had their masks on. But that will of course be probably reduced in terms of exposure by the sleepover.

If you're going to have it games that people mentioned are probably pretty good but again masks on while playing them. Shouting, talking, etc all of that while close to each other (even outside) would amp the risk up. I know you mentioned masks just not necessarily how often/frequent they would be worn.

For touch points hand sanitizer and wipes are what you can do along with using the masks while playing them and remind, remind, remind about not touching your face until you wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer. I don't think the games are as much of a risk as we originally thought when we can wear masks and just keep ensuring we don't touch our face before washing or sanitizing them.

Also consider your house and exposure for things like bathroom breaks. Maybe some disinfectant spray (though it would be a lot used) could be available to spray while people are going in and out.

Personally if it was just the 6 of you much less concern (still concern just less). But with 14 others plus a sleepover..also distance with the kids won't do much if the kids are staying over.

Jarts. I know people don't do those much anymore, but Jarts are a blast. and the kids love it. And I mean those original ones not those wimpy newer ones without metal points. what about a hypnotist

Op, the movie night is a good idea. People can stay with the group they came with and social distance from everyone else.
I am going to assume you are in an area with low numbers and are allowed to have a gathering of that size. If that is the case, it is possible to do it responsibly. For every story in the news of someone catching COVID at a party there are stories of nobody catching it at a party. In case people haven't noticed, there are places opening up, allowing gatherings again and the numbers are staying down.
People are having parties and get togethers and BBQ's and not spreading it.

We’ve had successful get togethers with the outdoor movie projector. Kids have put on music videos, movies, whatever is on their phones etc. So much fun and easy to stay spaced out. Individual pizzas per family and individual snacks etc.
