I am not happy about Southwest's decision to end AirTran flights from Lexington. We have had great experiences and prices on AirTran and I like being able to fly from the closest airport. I just bought tickets for a last minute trip in May and AirTran was $199 and Southwest was $343! I will not be flying SW for my December trip. I will be buying a more fuel efficient car and driving in December'

I hadn't heard this yet, but that's a real bummer. We bought tickets for our February trip for less than $1000 (for 5 people). It's nearly impossible to do that with any other airline.

They just announced they're leaving our airport in August too. It STINKS all around. We have no other airline that flies non-stop to MCO. Now we'll be paying more AND having a layover! Wah!!

Agreed, not happy about AirTran pulling out of our airport either. Get this, on our flight down, it will still be Airtran for 96.00 right now. On our flight back as Southwest, the cheapest is 378.00. RIDICULOUS. I will be flying Delta this time as I can usually score some pretty good deals with them.

They pulled out of Allentown starting this summer, too. I was able to get reasonable rates on SW, but Philadelphia is an hour father and more expensive to park. Seems like AT is leaving several airports since SW took over.

I will check Delta out of CVG since Louisville has dropped their non stop flights. There will be 6 in our group in December and I based my DVC reservation on AirTran flight times. Seems SW just bought out their competition.

Airtran is leaving my airport too. I am so bummed. Not only was the price great, it was the ONLY AIRLINE TO FLY NONSTOP from my airport. Now I have to go back to dealing with a layover. Airtran used to get me to Orlando is less than three hours. Now I am looking at 6 or more hours of travel time. :sad2:

Yes, Airtran (Southwest now) leaving several airports has impacted us in central Illinois too. Now it's harder to get to Orlando and costs more :sad1: Such a bummer.

Heard this news at school today and just hate it. I guess it was too good to be true, but boy was it good while it lasted.
