...someone will always build a bigger thrill ride:

The Griffon:

The worlds tallest and only floorless dive coaster with a 90 deg. drop.

In the old days, this would have been the cue for Bob O to tell us how this is the type of ride Disney should be building.

Well that's basically insane. {IMHO} :scared1: :scared: :faint:
WHat is more insane is that my DD's(8 and 10) saw the signs in Busch gardens last week......they cannot wait to go on!!!!

I read "90 deg. drop" and my stomach got that queasy feeling!! That's the sign of a great ride!! :thumbsup2

its only slightly higher than the one at Busch Gardens Tampa...Sheikra

I wonder how long that thing take to load and unload.

Can't wait to try it out. It's opening in the spring and you can BET I'll be there!!!

Sue Ellen

I was getting goosebumps just doing the virtual ride!! :thumbsup2

We rode it in Busch Gardens In Florida last year. My dh rode it twice. He begged me to ride with him for his fortieth birthday. I rode it with him. The children were begging me NOT to!!!!!! We bought the video. It is Hilarious. My dh rode it with NO HANDS!!!!! I, other other hand, held on for dear life, eyes closed, screaming at the top of my lungs. The picture it shows above is where it actually stops and pauses a moment. You are just hanging there. It stops like that twice. When the ride actually stopped for real....I was still hanging on and eyes shut...I didnt believe my husband. Needless to say, I will never ride it ever again. I love rollercoasters, but this is just too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everybody should experience it just once.

they had to build it five feet taller to beat SheiKra? that stinks. oh well, ours was the first in the US. as far as unload/load, it'll handle 5 trains on the track at once, and it's sooooo smooth.

if you're around BGW enjoy it, it's a great coaster.

Actually, SheiKra in Busch Gardens Africa is about 50-100 feet longer then Griffon. Having been on SheiKra, and being a thrill ride junkie I can't wait to ride this thing! The floorless effect will be amazing, you'll feel so unprotected. Weeeee!

Gee, I miss the old days. It has also been ages (years, actually) since the last 20 or 30 page thread on Pop Century's many failings...

Of course, the never-ending race to build the tallest, longest, fastest thrill-ride is one competition Disney should have no part of. It's beneath them - or at least it once was.

Firstly I don't think they would let Frank on that with his heart.

Secondly it is rides like this that really upset me that my daugher is a total thrill seaker about to reach 54". I am thinking about making a fake ruler to say look you are to short to ride that.
If not its a lot of motion pills for me.

Woot!!!! Thats only 10 minutes from the Grumpy Cave. You can bet i will be on that monster. If i get up that way in the next week or so I will try and post some construction pics
