HI all......well after about 3 months of being completely plateau, I am finally losing the weight again!
I write in journal (here) every day so others are able to see what I eat and I got a very good comment (can;t remember who it was, but, thanks!) who said I should try not eating so many snacks (even if they are low carb and atkins approved!) I decided to try that and it has worked signifigantly!

Today is my fourth day not cheating! the scale has moved downward.
It does really pay to not cheat!

Since september, when I began, I formed habits that allowed my to lose 35 pounds, so, I was much heavier then and thep ounds came off easy! Come January, I still had the same habits and nothing! It was very frustrating. ABout 2 weeks ago I brought up my carbs (pretty uch used this as an excuse to eat whatever) and then this past monday began low carb again with only one snack a day as opposed to 3 or 4. and I have lost about 8 pounds already. ALOT, I know but, I really kicked started something. I also changed my exercise routine. I jog now and although, I haven;t in about 3 days (because I was so sore for the first time, 4 miles on Tuesday), it's still working!

Don;t cheat.........see how it works!

Congratulations on the recent 8 lbs. loss! That's great!

I must admit, I'm a cheater and I know it's bad but sometimes it's so hard to resist. Thank you for posting about your success, it may help to motivate me to stop cheating!

Congratulations again and keep up the great work!

Renee, so happy to hear you and the scale are on speaking terms again! I know how frustrating those plateaus can be but you did an awesome job of not giving up!

Congratulations on 8 pounds less of you!! Keep it up!! :sunny:

Congratulations. Im just starting today and I really hope I can keep it up. My job really doesnt help much, my coworkers eat ALL the time and we sit almost all day and truthfully by the time I get home I am exhausted from just sitting all day. What can I do to get myself jumpstarted in the evenings instead of just falling down?

i should have practice what I preached! UGHHHHHH. I went a little nuts this weAkend! BUt I am back on and going for a 7 day cheat free streak! I know to many that may not be a long time but it is for me!
Today is day 2!
It seems I feel the need to reward myself with a cheat! Why is that? perhaps I have underlying issues.you think! LOL!

I mean I started my cheat free 7 day challenge as I watched the Sopranos sunday night, and said to myself "OK renee, next time youll eat something bad will be next sunday during sopranos!!!!

So I am setting myself up to cheat this coming sunday!!!

Any thoughts?????

Renee, Congratulations on the 8 pound loss after being plateaued!!! That is wonderful!! I too am a person that seems to only be able to go a few days of doing really good and then I have a bad day (or 2 or 3 or 4 ;) ). I seem to think to get the thought that OK, I've been doing so good this little cheat won't hurt , but ususally it does so I should know better by now. I've been losing and regaining the same few pounds for the last few months :( . Lately I have been doing really well, until lats night, but it seems like I have been doing better when I just take it 1 day at at time and when I want to cheat I try and think about how well I have been doing and I also try to think about my friends that are supporting me here at WISH. I have also found it helpful lately to pick up 1 of my low carb books again and read a bit in it and that seems to help keep me on track. When Sun. comes along tell yourself you don't need to cheat to watch the Sapranos and be strong. You can do this!!! Good luck!
I'm going to have to try the idea of cutting back on the snacks too!

Today is my 3rd day on Atkins. My mom already lost 10 pounds so this made me want to try it too. I have trying really hard not to eat, but where I work there is candy everywhere!!! Just the hard kind and I have resisted that. Today though I did have some green M&M's. Not many, but I felt guilty. But it is St. Patrick's Day. and I passed on the Reces Cup which is my favorite cand, but it had 13 carbs in it. They do add up.
I did have some cough drops because my throat was sore. Do those have carbs?

chrissy

HI crissty...........not sure about the cough drops but, if its chocalte that is your weakness, I read agreat thread about keeping a atkins choclate shake handy. THIS HAS WORKED FOR ME.

It is such a good idea, I love chocolate and now, I just pass the cookies and go straight for the chocolate shake...it really works!
