We don’t really care one way or another it just was the best time to go. What will it be like? We have never cruised at all before. 2 adults and a 19 yo, 15yo, and 14 yo.

I have never been on a halloween cruise (we have our first one coming up), but for the most part I don't think it's that different from the Merrytime cruises from what I understand.

There are some extra decorations (namely the pumpkin tree). There are a few extra storytimes that you may enjoy and some of the characters dress up. However you do not HAVE to go to those - there are plenty of other things to do at the same time.

If you do not like or want to participate in the Halloween activities, I do not think they will affect you much at all.,

I am aboard the Fantasy this year for Halloween (our first time sailing on actual Halloween). I was looking at onboard activities yesterday since my booking window opened, and it appears that they plan to do Pirate night that night. I'm a little disappointed as I was going to dress my daughter in costume (not pirate). I thought I had read on here about trick or treating, but I guess not....

I'm not a big fan of Halloween but when disney does Halloween it's awesome. The Halloween cruise was great. The characters were dressed up, people dressed up, they did treat or treating, the decorations were cute and they did a special showing of nightmare before Christmas. Oh and they played Halloween music, I started counting how many times I heard monster mash, it was funny.

We were on a Fantasy Halloween cruise over Halloween itself this past year. Similar to you, it was just a fluke date thing, rather than us being drawn to a Halloween cruise. We aren't big Halloween people, either, and didn't find it to be overwhelming on the ship. There were some decorations around the ship, and certainly activities around it, but we didn't really go to any of those other than trick-or-treating. We didn't feel like the Halloween activities, as people who weren't interested in them, were a negative to our cruise experience overall.

They usually do Halloween activities on Monday with trick or treating, costume parade, activities etc. There is nothing you sign up for in any case in this regard so you won't need to worry about that. Or they might change Pirate night and put the Halloween festivities on that night instead. Since it is a 7 night cruise, you will definitely have an opportunity to have pirate night seperate from Halloween festivities.

I'm pretty sure I read on DCL's site that there IS some trick or treating. I would call DCL to find out details. Sytrace says there's trick or treating too, so it MUST be true! :cutie:

Haha! You are funny. :) Every Halloween cruise I have been on has had the activities, including trick or treating...but I have never actually sailed ON Halloween...maybe they do it differently. But it is a 7 night cruise with plenty of time to schedule it so...hoping for the best for @nittanyliongirl02

When we were on the Fantasy on Halloween 2017, trick or treating and costumes were on the 30th, not the 31st.

DH and I will be on the EBPC cruise in October and we will be on board on Halloween. Trying to figure out inexpensive costumes for 5 people. Thankfully, pirate night is a separate night for us. We're looking forward to it.

We've been on at least two Halloween cruises and agree that if you aren't into Halloween, it doesn't really impact your experience. There will be Halloween activities including trick or treating and music on one day. I'm pretty sure it wasn't always on Monday. I think it is scheduled for a sea day. Monday is usually Cozumel on W. Caribbean cruises on the Fantasy. Pretty sure there was also the pirate party?

People do dress for the costume parties but no need to do so. Some wear costumes to dinner but one of our cruises was shortly after Labor Day and I didn't see many costumes at dinner that cruise. I think that changes as Halloween approaches but we did not wear costumes and did not feel the least out of place.

I went on Halloween cruise in the past and will doing another in a couple of months. I was pretty much able to ignore most of the Halloween stuff last time and will probably be able to do it again.

There is enough non Halloween activities that the only things you will notice are:

1) decorations on portholes Windows
2) weird pumpkin tree in the attrium
3) characters in Halloween costumes on at least one day.
