Congratulations!

I think the smaller contracts are easier to pass, when the buyer pays closing, because the cost increases by $10-$15 ppt.

Congratulations on passing ROFR at VWL! If you don't mind sharing, how long did it take you to hear that you had passed?? This coming Friday will mark 3 weeks for us so hopefully we'll hear one way or the other this week!

Please, please, please, give details!!! Is this the 50 point March UY, with only 7 points availabe for 2005, I was seriously considering this one, but wasn't sure what the right price would be because it was so stripped. How did it work, does the seller still pay the maintenace? Curious minds want to know! If I can figure it out, I won't let another one slip by!!

Calrabelle,

That was the one. Paid $72.00/point but the seller is reimbursing dues for the 2005 points used which brings it down to just over $68.00/point. That kind of clinched the decision since I paid that for a 100 point resale at VWL last year with the same use year. I inquired on the 50 point one when it was at $74.00 also.

I placed the offer on 7/30 and found out about ROFR on 8/16, so just over two weeks.

Well congrats on the purchase, I was so torn, DVC recentlly had points for march, but we had just bought a new car. That was when it was still 84 a point, now its 89! So even with adding in closing, you still made out! I was so unsure on how to handle this because it was stripped, guess you just look at it like its not, and as long as they will reimburse you the maintenance for the missing points, its a good deal! but don't you still have to pay that maintenance in January?? So can that really be taken into consideration for the cost of the points? I know I'm asking alot, just trying to understand so that if another one comes up, I want to be ready to jump!!

Did you pay closing? Is it the same for a small contract.....around $500? So out the door it was around $78 for a stripped contract? Better than $89, thats for sure.

Clarabelle -
I don't think closing costs have any basis on the amount of points you're buying. I paid closing costs last year of $350.00 on 100 points. I'm paying closing costs of $400.00 this year. The use year was most important to me. I really wanted a small add on at VWL with the same use year I already had . I'll still have to pay the full maintenance fees in January, but I can always put the reimbursement away and use it for that (yeah, that'll happen ...).
