Not all of MK open for morning EMH?

Might be a tip for those that don't know, we sure didn't.

Went to MK on 4-1-12 and 4-3-12 for the 7a.m. EMH. On the first day we headed to Adventureland first thing and were met with a rope closing off the bridge into the area. CMs there told us that part of the MK wouldn't open until 7:45.

So we went to Frontierland to hit Splash Mountain. Came up to another rope blocking that area off and CMs telling us no entry until 7:45.

Was told to go to Tomorrowland or Fantasyland.

It was implied to us that this was normal for all morning EMHs.

Is this normal for other people's visits? Why isn't the whole MK open for EMH?

Yes, this is normal. Some research and you can find a listing for each park for what is opened during the AM and PM EMH.

All parks only have certain rides open during morning and evening emh's. It's been that way for years.

Here this might help

Since we now don't have little ones when we go don't do EMH mornings at MK. We prefer the evening EMH. Once families with small children leave we get a lot of rides in

Heh heh. I wouldn't know about this since I cannot seem to get out of the bed early enough to make rope drop most days.

Yep, this is why we avoid some EMHs; it ends up being a waste of time for us because we don't have kids with us.

This is why I don't do EMHs, especially at MK. I'm not interested in the rides for little kids, and it's not worth it to go to an EMH just for a couple of rides. I totally would if ALL of the rides were open, though.

I was wondering this too... are EMH really worth it? Don't EMH generally make the park more crowded?

7:45 is still earlier than the rest of the public gets into it..

and you can go do space mountain, WTP and Dumbo before the crowds get in,and then do splash and BTMR while folks are doing Fantasy Land.

We really find am EMH at MK to be worth it. We have done every one offered during every trip. We are always able to do all of Fantasyland and then several of the other major attractions (BTMRR and/or Space Mtn and every thing else in that "land") Everything we do is under a 5 min wait and we can usually get a few FPs.

I have always read that EMH makes the park more crowded later in the day because there are the EMH visitors plus the regular day visitors when they arrive. But in the morning the parks are always relatively empty. (I am always able to get pictures with no one in the background.)

We always have park hoppers, so we leave around 11:00 (when the crowds are starting to build) and head back to the resort for a break before going to a different park for the evening.
