Hi Guys:

I am not adding the DP until the 48 hr mark. I am planning to make an ADR at CRT next week. And planning to do it online. Can I still just put the credit card hold for the ADR with my resort reservation # ?

I am confused because I have always had my plan added to our reservation right away and now the online system has merged your reservation with your dining plan....

So I am wondering if I am going to run into trouble. Please advise. Thank you!

If you do not already have the DP added to your reservation you will have to pay outright for CRT. There's no way around this. If you pay, you'll be credited for it at the restaurant if you want to use DP credits for the meal instead.

Because of the new MS policy....

I guess I will pay for the meal now. Much cheaper than paying for the dining plan OOP now.

Yes - you'll have to pay for it all in advance if you don't have the DDP set up yet.

Yep. We use the TIW and they charge us up front and then credit us back the discount when we dine. In your case you would just get a credit back for the full amount on the day you dine.

Yes, this has been our experience as well. Once, however, we asked for to be credited for the TIW discount and the server got a little huffy, saying that they could have taken the discount over the phone, but he would take care of it for us anyway.

I have a whole bunch of Disney Gift Card $$ that I will add to my KTTW cards upon arrival. When I eat at CRT, can I tell them to charge it to my room instead of the credit card, and get my credit card reimbursed?

I tried to do this over the phone through Disney Dining, but they said they could not change the payment method without cancelling my CRT ressie and making a new one.

I think it is a CC company requirement that any credits be put back on the originally charged card. That way if someone tries to cheat the system, the CC company has proof.

Thanks. My main question is whether CRT will let you change your form of payment when we get there ... from a credit card to a room key.

I have no idea if they will allow a change in payment type, unless you go from cash to DDP. I doubt it, as generally once it is booked, the full amount is billed to the CC right away...no real advantage to you, as the first CC would likely be billed several months before arrival...so it would accrue interest if you didn't pay it right away.

I recently came into $1200 in Disney Gift Cards. I am trying to figure out how I can make sure I use all $1200. By switching the form of payment at CRT, I'll turn $134 of those Gift Cards into essentially cash, crediting my credit card.
