After all the planning our trip finally happened 9-28-2005 to 10-3-2015. It seems CSR was not a great choice for us. I had faxed a room request 5 days prior which included an announcement of my proposal to happen on our first night. (Nothing was noted on our reservation as guest services told us the second night) Our preferred room was the exact distance from bus stop 2 and the lobby which made it far from everything. We got a Beautiful view of the magical parking lot. When i asked the front Desk about moving the response I got was "We have a convention checking in tomorrow and can not move you, But for your inconvenience i added 1 FP+ to your MDE" The inner hotel shuttle that is for transporting guest throughout the resort was for Convention Guest only. When I spoke to Guest Service/Front Desk they confirmed that the Golf Carts were for convention guest only. We used it the first evening with no issues until the day the convention checked it all went downhill fast. The buses to the parks were Amazing as there were plenty and we waited very little for all buses except DTD\Disney Springs\Typhoon Lagoon I would Get a Taxi it took 45 mins for a bus to arrive then another 40 to get to Typhoon Lagoon. (all the construction re routes buses) I sent an email to Disney with my displeasure waiting on their response.

Sorry you had a less than magical experience. We've stayed at CSR 4 times, and from our experience, the quality of our stay at CSR depends a lot on our room location. Having said that, this is probably the right time to say that room requests are just that, and there's no guarantee they can or will accomodate them.

Yes i understood that we were a preferred king and offered to pay for a better view. We were told by front desk that we could not pay for a better view. I didnt know any Business that would deny money.

Yep, my guess is the issue was the late request. Booking it earlier would've been the key. Sorry it didn't work out.

Just got off the phone with Mike from Guest Relations in regards to my email. As per my issues with Golf Carts and Room View the convention (signet) Paid for the Inner resort Transportation and for all rooms in preferred facing lake and all Business class rooms. A preferred king can be either water/lake /garden view.
I did some searching and there are plenty of others having issues the same time we went. Tripadvisor and oyster reviews. Hopefully on our bounce back to GFR it will be better for our honeymoon.

He offered us a 2 night Moderate resort stay with 2 day Park hopper tickets to use anytime for our inconvenience. Sorry, but why do you keep on saying "inconvenience"? Sounds convenient to me.

From what was discussed on the phone the signet convention had paid for use of several facilities from golf carts to Rix lounge to an evening pool party which inconvenienced many guest as the pool by us was being refurbished. Yes we still had a great trip and avoided being at the resort due to the large amount of conventioneers. Nothing beats the feeling of being in front of the castle and enjoying the magic of Disney!

I love the GF and cannot think of a lovelier resort to celebrate a honeymoon.

Looks like buildings 1, 2 and 3 are the only preferred buildings at CSR. Building 1 and part of building 3 being the closest to Dining and the main building. The majority of preferred rooms are 2 Queen beds with a few king rooms sprinkled in, being only 10%-15% king beds in the preferred section may have been another reason why they couldn't move you to another king room with a better view, especially since they had a convention going on. It's always a bummer when everything you plan doesn't work out perfectly but so glad to hear that they called and made an attempt to make it right.
In the future, always add room requests and celebrations with a CM to your reservation, so many resorts don't take fax anymore or if they do, many are missed.
Congratulations on your engagement and hopefully your second stay at CSR will be a better experience!

First; congratulations, In regards to CSR, we have stayed there 10 times (1/2 the time for conventions) and had rooms in all 3 sections and cannot even remember considering even using the golf carts. The walk from the vary back of Rancho's to the lobby is only 10 minutes. You stayed in room 1117 which is in Casitas building #1 which is actually connected to El Centro. You really cannot get much closer then that. With a standard view room there is a good chance of a parking lot view, even at some of the Deluxe resorts. I would have an issue with the pool being closed for a party also, as well as other amenities:(
When you stay at GF (which will be great) I would suggest to request a room close to what is important to you, i.e. lobby or transportation (boat or monorail), because a couple of the outer buildings rooms can be a decent walk to the main building where the monorail and some of the food places are. For future trips check Touring Plans out, they have pics of views from the resort rooms. http://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-coronado-springs-resort

We were Far from both the Lobby and Bus Stop 2 How is this a Desirable Location? Room 1117

You and I have a MUCH different idea of "far from the lobby", apparently.:)

Stinks that you had a disappointing stay. Personally, I wouldn't care about Rix, golf carts, etc., but if the main pool were "reserved", I wouldn't be happy, and I'd be asking for more FPs to cover that inconvenience ;)

We always ask for water view. One time we were unhappy with the view (it was more "vegetation view" than "water view", IMO, but the front desk was able to rectify it and get us moved to a great room in the Cabanas.

We've had nothing but wonderful stays the five times we were at CSR, so I'm a bit sad to hear you were unhappy.

It really sounds to me like your disappointment is just from unrealistic expectations. You know that requests are not guaranteed, but disappointed that they weren't. BTW, most WDW resorts don't look at faxed room requests anymore. No other WDW resorts have gold carts to shuttle people around other than check-in/check-out. So this real isn't about CSR in particular. Chances are you expectations wouldn't have been met at any resort.

BTW, it's a 2 min walk to the food court from the middle of the preferred rooms and 2 mins to busstop 2. How is that far from everything?

I have stayed at CSR many times, last trip was last month. I booked a preferred room and found it very convenient to the food court and main bus stop. I wasn't disappointed with anything. Now if I was even interested in the main pool I would of booked a standard room and requested that I be put in Ranchos. I have stayed in Ranchos before and found it in the boonies.
