Not a good start to our trip planning

I've been reading the boards, the guides, etc. for months now and was finally ready to make our reservations last week. I called AAA and Disney Travel to compare rates and was surprised but thrilled that DT was $200 less than AAA even with the discount. Woo hoo! Doublechecked everything, got all of the ADRs we wanted, even more woo hoo! Then today I get the reservation confirmation in the mail and dd is not on the reservation. So I called and yep, they left her off because she is 2 now even though she won't be 2 when we get there. The lady I made the reservation discussed this at length and she assured me she was on the reservation as a 3 year old and that the price was accurate. So now adding her is $300 more. DT told me this morning that I can cancel with no penalty and go back through AAA but what does this do to our ADR's? I am so angry and frustrated right now!!! I left all of my information at work so won't be calling AAA until tomorrow but does anyone have any experience with changing agents/reservations and ADR's?!!?

Did you make the ADR's with the DT? If you made them yourself, separately, by calling Disney Dining then it shouldn't affect your ADR reservations. I've made ADR's before even making my hotel reservations. They don't confirm where you are staying and if you on using the dining plan when you make the ADR (even though they ask for this information), so it shouldn't affect your ADR's at all. Just tell the Disney folks that you want to cancel your room/ticket reservations ONLY...not the whole package.

I agree with the above post, it shouldn't do anything for your ADR's.

However....if you are going with the free dining package....then it might make a differnce. Maybe someone else will know if it does. :confused3

Just a little update - DT has agreed to honor AAA's price so a happy resolution. And dd still gets to go to Disney with us :)

You don't need to be staying at a WDW resort to book ADRs. So there's no way that they will cancel your ADRs because you cancelled a resort reservationor a package. Even if you were cancelling in order to stay at a Universal Hotel (perish the thought), WDW still wants you to spend money in WDW restaurants.

Good luck and have a great vacation.
