We have not had a drop of rain in over a month, what appeared to be a great growing year has turned into a dustbowl.

My grass is fried beyond repair, thats ok with me though. No mowing, and the yard will soon be dug-up for the new addition.

My flowers and shrubs are another thing. With temperature's hovering in the 90's every day and no rain in sight. I am spending 2 hours every morning with a hose trying to just keep them alive. I need to start moving plants soon. I moved a few in the spring, but the majority of plants need to be moved. I'm getting concerned, I know I can't move stressed plants, hoping the rain come soon.

DS called from Melrose MA this afternoon, it was pouring rain and the rain cooled the temps to 69, I thought the rain was more widespread than you're indicating. Logan was having delays nearly 4 hours long.

Sorry you missed out. It's dry here, the scattered showers haven't helped us either.

Hope the rains have hit you...today was a perfect day here to garden! Nice and cool, cloudy. The next few days are going to be dry and warm, so I hope you had an opportunity to move a few things today. If you do move them tomorrow, try setting up a shade cloth to protect them for a few days (an old sheet on stakes should work).

Hope you got some of it. We've been drying up here too. Couldn't keep up with the watering and let some things go. The garden is awful this year between the woodchuck and the weather. Our corn was beautiful until he ate half of it. He ate all the peppers and now the squash:sad: He even got my pumpkins and melons.
We drove back Sunday night from a wedding on LI in a monsoon. All the way hoping we would get some of it in NJ. We did :cool1: and things are starting to perk up a bit. My lawn is still full of crabgrass but at least it's green. :flower:

I'll send you some... It seems to rain here about 3 times a week... And really on my days off.

DS is moving into his college apt. today in Tampa. He just called & said it feels like 100 degrees with 100 percent humidity. Spoken like a true Yankee :rotfl:

No rain here ....none! seems the rain is just north or just south of us. we are very dry. My containers look awful.

Uh oh, we're heading into another dry spell for about 2 weeks this time. I'm watering now to try and get ahead.

Had some rain earlier this week, finally. seems like too little, too late.
