Not a DISNEY ?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is worth taking a 16 month old to SeaWorld? I know this is not a Disney question but I think he may enjoy it and was just curious if anyone has an experience with a pre-toddler at this park. I would appreciate any feedback, it has been 15 years since Ihave been to Seaworld and my DH has never been there. Thanks for your help!!

We took our DD2.5 & DS when he was 11 months. I thought Magic Kingdom & Sea World would be great for their ages instead of taking them to all of Disney Parks. They loved animals when they saw them at the zoo, or in parks etc... at home so thought they would enjoy Sea World. They liked seeing the animals behind the glass tanks, and at the Dolphin area But after a while they lost interest.
I didn't think about the fact of waiting in your seats before the shows started especially if you went early to get a good seat or a seat in the shade. Shortly after the shows start, they're already restless since they've been sitting a while. Most don't have a long attention span at that age for sitting through the shows. So in hindsight, I would have waited to take them to Sea World till a little older (especially the 11 month old).

We took our 2 year old goddaughter to the Sea World in San Diego (years ago) and she really wasn't that interested after a little while.

They had some fun areas where the kids could lean over and touch starfish and other random creatures and she really didn't understand "gentle" so we didn;t spend too much time there.

We went a few weeks ago and DD loved SeaWorld! She was 21 months. She loved seeing all the animals up close, and especially liked the underwater dolphin area. All the little kids were standing against the glass, it was so cute. She loved the shows too, it wasn't a problem about the wait because DH would save our seats and I would let her run around a bit before the show started. If you and DH are into rides, Kraken is a great roller coaster.

Personally I think Sea World is a great place for kids this age.

When we go in Jan we'll be taking the 18 mo for her first trip. My DH, DS 13, DS 9, and I all love Seaworld. It's my DH and 9 yo favorite after MK. Actually DH liked AK then Seaworld then MK. Take the child!! It is a nice break from all of the Disney rules of, "NO drinking, no smoking, no flash photography, no spontaneous activety ." It has a much more relaxed atmosphere and is very easy to do in one day.

We took our DD when she was 2. Every child is different, but for ours it wasn't worth going. She enjoyed seeing the animals up close, but didn't do too well with the shows. She got a little impatient waiting for them to begin and then when they did, she couldn't see everything.

It wasn't a terrible day, but I think we'll wait until she is school age before going there again.

On our very first trip my youngest was 18 months old. He loved SeaWorld, and his favorite?? The ducks swimming in some of the streams. Yes, we traveled 1100 miles and he wanted to watch the ducks, which were just like the ducks at his gramma's condo in our home town!! Fortunately my parents were also with us, and they took the bigger kids to go see all the exotic exhibits and DS and I spend a lot of time in the shade watching the ducks. Hey, he was happy!

We go to Seaworld every trip and my kids love it. The youngest we have taken to Seaworld was 13.5 months and he was very interested in the shows and the animals. I did spend a little bit of time showing him through books and the internet different animals we would be seeing which sparked some interest before we went.

We have season passes to Sea World San Antonio and my kids, ds4 and ds18months, absolutely love it. I do have to admit that we don't go during super crowded times so waiting isn't an issue. How much they like each show depends on what it is--both get very into the sea lion show, but neither much likes the show with the dolphins and white whales.
