I have a PS for breakfast for CRT while at Disney, but am now wondering if we may also want to do the princess meal in Norway for dinner. It is kind of expensive so I am wondering if anyone has any opinions on the meal. I have DS 7, DD 4, DD 1.5.
I am also considering Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, Trails End buffet (and the movie night there also!!).
With DD 1.5 it seems to work better to eat at buffets-- she has no patience to sit and wait for a meal. However, the character buffets are usually more expensive.

We will be there 7/16-7/24.

We did both CRT, and Akershus last week. It sounded like a good plan but really wasn't for us.

CRT- Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Mary Poppins, Wendy, and the Fairy Godmother.
Akershus- Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Ariel (who was fabulous), and Jasmine (who was rude, and not very good)

Too many repeats- We were hoping to see Snow White, and/or Mulan at Akershus, so the addition of Cindy at Akershus was not good for us. I wish she would just stay in her castle, and let the other princesses get a chance (IMO). From the number of little ones dressed like Snow White at Akershus, I'm sure many were upset.

We did Akershaus this past Wednesday. I don't think the food was worth it, I think we were really paying for the princesses. I will say that DD ate her food, and she is the pickiest eater ever. She ate the appetizer plate (cheese, cold cuts, trail mix, and some fruit) and her main dish which was a hot dog. So I was happy about that. I had the chicken and pasta and thought it was decent. DH had the braised lamb and it seemed ok to him, but nothing out of this world. I enjoyed the dessert, I thought the rice pudding was delicious. And DD liked the chocolate mousse.

The princesses were pretty good. I would say our favorites were Belle, Ariel and Jasmine. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White didn't seem to go out of their way to interact. But DD was thrilled. She was wearing her Belle gown, and Belle was joking with her saying she had been looking for the dress and to remember to return it when the night was over. DD thought it was pretty funny.

We just returned and did several character meals. We were pleased with all of them, except Chef Mickey's. The food was really bad, and we would never do this one again.
We were SO pleased with CRT, Norwar Princess lunch, Crystal Palace (best food), and LTT.

I am so happy to here Cinderella has been in appearance at Akershaus! We have PS for lunch in June and that is who DS3 really wants to see, he is convinced he is her future husband. I have, however, been playing up Belle and Sleeping Beauty just in case she is not there!

We decided on lunch because that to me seemed the best value. Over $20 for eggs and fixins for breakfast? To me that is what is expensive. Lunch and Dinner have basically the same menu, so we went with lunch. We are excited about trying something new, as we usually only eat counter service meals.

We were at Akhershus for dinner on 04/27 (this past week). We had the following princesses: Belle (who wasn't wearing her gold gown, but her turquoise & white dress), Jasmine (who wasn't rude at all, but very sweet to my little girl), Ariel (who was showing off her 'feet' to anyone who asked!), Aurora, and Mulan.

Cinderella and Snow White were NOT in attendance when we were there.

Our observations:

1. Check-in was a mess. There is a very small area near the front of the entrance to the restaurant where you check-in. They do not hand out pagers. Because of the rather loud music being piped in the speakers in the Norway area, you are virtually forced to 'hang out' very near the front entrance in order to hear when your name is called. This caused a HUGE traffic jam near the entrance, and chaos ensued.

Perhaps this will be better organized in the future when this isn't so 'new' anymore. Simply handing out pagers would have alleviated this huge traffic jam.

2. Parents - be forwarned, that MOST girls are dressed in their Princess best. There is a souviner cart right across from the entrance (how convenient!) that sells "Princess crowns" and other accessories, but no gowns.

3. We felt the food was wonderful. I had the cod, which was very light, flaky, and in a delicious cream sauce. My husband had the salmon, and it was delicious, as well. Our little princess was very happy with her child's meal.

4. Service was rather slow...our PS was at 7:20, and we made it out the door at 8:59 PM, one minute before the start of Illuminations. It would have been even later if we hadn't started 'rushing' our server by asking for our check when he served dessert, etc.

5. It appears there are no guarantees which Princesses will be in residence, so don't promise your child anything. I just told my DD that "several" princesses would be there, and it would be a 'surprise' for all of us to see who attended. I'm glad I did this, because if I had 'promised' that Cinderella or Snow White would be there, she would have been very disappointed.

6. The Princesses seemed to be very organized in their 'rotation' to the various tables. I felt like they didn't rush anything, and spent as much time as was needed visiting with everyone.

All-in-all, we were pleased, (except for the initial confusion and chaos at the check-in!)

I agree check-in was a mess. TOO crowded, and very unorganized

I'm glad Jasmine was nice and sweet to your little one. We never got the chance to see how she would be to my 6 Y.O., since she would not come to our table to see her. My little one was in the potty, when she and Belle, came around. Belle was still in the area, and ran right over once she saw her back. Jasmine was to another section already, so we were content to wait till she made her rounds, but when she returned our section, she refused to come to the table even after she was asked by our server to do so. I heard her tell him, that she was already there. He tried to tell her, that the small one was not there at the time, but she just walked away. I felt this to be rude.

I wish Mulan was there when we were. That is my oldest DDs favorite.

We are going for DS, who is 3. Do they have anything special for little boys to wear? I imagine that little boys are not particularly marketed to for this type of thing, but perhaps a prince crown or something?

Thank you, Princess Wannabe, for your detailed review.

We did the Princess Dinner in Norway on 4/23.

We had Cinderella, Belle, Jasmin, Ariel & Sleeping Beauty.

The food for us was not good. I had cold slimy chicken that tasted more fish.

We went with 3 boys. The 2 of older boys have major crushes on the princess. Most of the ladies could not be bothered with our table. They seemed like they did not even want to spend enough time to take a picture with the boys. The only one who really took any interest was Belle. She was very sweet with the boys & spent time with each of them.

To be honest my 21 month old DS could have cared less about the girls. But the other 2 boys really wanted to see them.

The ladies come around to the tables once & then go into hiding until later. So unless you are taking your time while eating, you will only see them once.

We prefer places like LTT where the characters are constantly moving around & you can see them a couple of times a meal.

The service was really SLOW. Our server was very sweet though. But it took forever to get our food!

Perhaps breakfast and lunch are different. But the place was not worth the price! Bad food, snooty princess's, slow service!

I ate here with my sister and her two girls (ages 8 and 10) on Friday for dinner, and it was OK. We were seated in this alcove area with four tables, and probably the absolute last table in the princesses's rotation as far as I could tell. The princesses were very rushed, barely spent 15 seconds at our table. And they came one after the other rather quickly, and then we never saw them again. The autographs they did were quite sloppy since they were in such a hurry. A good thing is that the food was fine, as my picky nieces actually ate alot of their appetizer plate and some of their pasta and meatballs, too. Overall my nieces really liked it, so it was money worth spending. I have no regrets about going, though I wish that the kids would get more than 15 seconds per princess! Actually, 15 seconds may be an overestimate, maybe 8 seconds is more accurate!

The princesses in attendance were Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, and Belle. I was hoping for Ariel, but I expected her not to be there (since I never get my hopes up at Disney!) and I was right. Well, probably won't rush to do it again for that price! (Two kids and two adults was over $100!)
