Does Norway have the princesses at lunch and honestly how is the lunch. My husband loves Germany but I would like to go to the princess lunch but will hear alot of complaints if the food is bad. It is a buffet correct?
Thank you - my adr date is coming up and I am frazzeled!!

The princesses are at lunch. We split on the food, I really liked it but my DH was not too impressed. They have a buffet with meat, cheeses, and salad and a menu for entrees.

I too am contemplating between Akershus & Biergarten as far as my schedule goes because im only going to epcot probably one day. Personally would rather eat at Biergarten as it seems like a lot of fun & i read the food was very good, but my girls would love Akershus.

I'm going for lunch and the food looks ok. The menu is at both allears.net and on Disney's website. Personally, I am going for the princesses and I'm sure my family can find something they will eat. You could also try a late breakfast around 11am, as the food is just regular breakfast food.

1) Let's put it this way.
2) At character meals, you are paying for characters, not the food.
3) At all character meal food is OK - not great, but OK.
4) This is no different at Akershus.

NOTE: If someone says the food at a particular character meal is great or "super duper", I seriously begin to question their judgment about other things. :lmao:

This is a tangentially-related answer, but we ate at the bakery in Norway last year. My MIL had a seafood soup that was seriously the best thing we had the entire trip. The lunch menu at Akershus has that soup listed as one of the choices, and I'm working on the assumption that it's the same stuff. We decided to lunch instead of dinner there on the lure of that soup alone. :goodvibes

Great help! What about a DS 4 to this dinner? Are there any boys at Princess dinners?

We took my DD and DS, he was almost 3 and loved all the attention he got, the Princesses make as much fuss over the little boys as the girls (if they want it)

We love Askerhaus and we do lunch every year, the kids food is standard fare. My kids never eat at these things they are so busy with the characters they forget to eat, but at least at Askerhaus I can always get bread, lunch meat and or a slice of cheese in them. My husband loves the food there,he always gets the Kjottkaee (something like that) I get the pasta and its pretty good. Its not cheeseburger type food but its good. If you want to see the princess'es its a great option, we saw, Cindy, Belle, Ariel, Aurora, and Jasmine. We then walked right down the street and got Snow White (Germany) and Mulan (China), it was a grand slam for autographs

why not do both. I have decided to pay out of pocket for my sci-fi meal and do two meals in epcot, the princess for a late breakfast and Biergarten for dinner. I couldnt give up the princess ressie for my kids and i really wanted to try Biergarten so i came up with that decision.

This does not hold true for Akershus. It was first a great, favorite, restaurant of ours before princesses ever arrived. The cold board part of Akershus menu has changed little in 20 years. The former hot buffet was changed into pre-plated dishes. The food is just as good on the pre-plated dishes, but unfortunately not all of my favorite hot foods were made into pre-plated dishes.

I go for the food and whether or not princesses are there does not affect my decision to eat there one iota.

One way to quickly tell is to sample something from the counter-service restaurant at Norway, if you liked it, you will like Akershus. The cuisine is the same. They do lots of salads, herring, potato salads, etc for the cold board. If you like bland-cuisines, like I do, you will love it!
