We did the EBTA transatlantic last year and loved it, and it got us thinking about another Disney Cruise in Europe. We will have a 4 year old and an 8 year old. I am sure that being on the Magic will be a blast, but in regards to the itineraries, is there one which may be more conducive to enjoying with little ones?

When we travel, we move at the pace of the lowest common denominator (i.e. at the pace of the 4 year old). It appears that the Norway/Iceland itinerary has some amazing port adventures but would be very hiking/outdoor focused, which would be tough for a 4 year old. It looks gorgeous, though. We have no problems not doing shore excursions, and just exploring towns and cities on our own, so we would likely not be doing port adventures at every port... we only did one on the EBTA and we still had a blast.

Any thoughts to help us decide between these two cruises would be so appreciated! (Or alternatively, we did contemplate a Norway/Northern Europe B2B but thought that it might just be too many ports and too tiring for our little ones...)

TIA!!

We did the 12 night Norway Iceland on DCL this past summer with our 7,5, and 3 year olds. It was amazing! Our best trip ever! We flew in 3 days early to Copenhagen and stayed 2 nights after the cruise (highly recommend).

For the cruise, we were able to find port excursions for each port that we all really enjoyed- even the 3 year old. We arranged private tours in our own in Iceland (Ice Limo) and Orkney Scotland (Orkney Aspects) which were amazing and very kid friendly- highly recommend! All of our kids still remember and talk about the sights we saw and adventures we had.

Thanks for the feedback! Glad that y'all had an amazing cruise! If I may ask, what kinds of excursions did you do?

My son will be 9 when we do the Norway/Iceland one this coming June. Part of the reason I picked the itinerary was because of the mix of port days vs sea days. It seemed like there were plenty of "rest" days built in. Honestly, my 9 year old can move at the speed of your 4 year old (if not slower) at times. Looking at excursions, really, the only full day one I think we'd do is in Iceland, everything else seemed like we'd be ok with partial days.

British Isles didn't work with our schedule or I would've had a harder time picking between the two myself. Good luck with your decision.
