I was reading on "allears" that the children's play area at the Viking ship in Norway was rehabed and is no longer a play area? Please say it isn't so! My kids love to play there and is what they look forward to after a long stroll through The World Showcase in Epcot. Has anyone seen this? :sad2:

It's been closed for months (a year, maybe?). There is no evidence of 'rehab' and CM's have told us there is no reason to believe it will open again. Weird. We've asked for info and the only response Disney will give is, 'It's closed and will be for the foreseeable future.'

We were just there in July, and my kids headed straight for the ship, and yes it is closed. There was no way on. The ship looks the same, just no way to get on. We have the kids pictures on it from just about every year went, this time we had to stand in front. :confused3

This just makes me really sad! The kids will be disappointed. It is amazing that they really just love the play places. They even still remember the bug garden play area in Epcot during the Millenium Celebration. I hope they have something fun in mind for that area?

I wonder why it would close like that and sit empty.
