Norway Could be gone from EC.

I'm not saying they can't but over the years what have they done to upgrade WS? We've had GREAT rumors up the ying yang but when push comes to shove nothing has ever been done because it is their policy to not to spend their money when (they feel) they can get someone else to do it.

I agree that it needs to be done and I want it to be done but like I said the same goes for the monorail. If they truly want to make major upgrades that will pay dividends for years to come these things are a no brainer ... Sadly 'no brainer' seems to be who's in charge at Disney these days.

Don't get me wrong I'm with you IMO WS is the most neglected part of WDW!!

I think EPCOT needs a Disney California Adventure style cash infusion, development, re-theme, and refocus on what EPCOT was intended to be, and what EPCOT should be.

Of course Epcot draws well over 10 million guests. DCA which is just over a half billion dollar park was only bringing in 6 million guests. Now with WoC a big piece of the extra cash DCA is getting it can be expected that they topped 7 million guests in 2010.

Maybe when DCA tops 10 million guests, they should drop the next bill on the other 6 million visitor parks. DHS and AK before spending it on a successful park.

That is what I was thinking. Epcot is a two day park not to mention I have almost every dinner there while I'm in WDW.
Should start with MGM as it has much less visitors. Does DHS or AK have higher attendance rates BTW? Both need work but I hate DHS, kinda like an east coast DCA.

Blending Norway and Sweden together may prove interesting. I worked with a Swede and he claimed they were not the best of friends.

I think the rivalry is more fierce among Norwegian-Americans and Swedish-Americans and the older (WWII survivor) generation then today's Norwegians and Swedes.

I'll be happy with a refurb as long as they fix the end of the Maelstrom ride.....you know, the part where you exit and have NO WHERE to go until the movie is over and you can run through the theater trying not to feel guilty about ditching the nice host/hostess waiting to show you the movie......

That's been remedied, the doors are always open now, and the movie plays continuously

That's great. We felt pretty bad last time we went and slipped out the exit door while the hostess was talking.

Not only was the movie a "joy", but I also love how after the ride you are more or less forced to go through the 3 shops to exit out...that said you can't beat that classic line "Back! Back! Over the falls!" That's really the only reason I'd hate to see Maelstrom renovated...those lovely trolls.

I don't think they would make it about an "area" bc WS is generally themed around countries. . . the only way that would work is if they expanded the section and added more to see so all countries were accurately depicted.

Disney makes enough money - and they would make enough on any country they put there (dining, merchandise) to justify the cost of building, staffing, and upkeep. The demand for sponsorship is what keeps that area from growing and expanding. It is special in my mind, but it could be so much more.

Agreed, marketing is in such a different "era" than it was in the 80's when they were looking for sponsors.

There's millions of small, inexpensive ways to market globally, why spend lots of money marketing in one place that people might notice for 5 full minutes out of their vacation?
