What kind of open face sandwiches do they have? What dessert do you recommed; rice cream, veiled maiden or no sugar added chocolate mousse and why? Also, for the PB&J, can you get it with out the J?

I think I want to try it next month on the dining plan.

My family loves the turkey sandwich, and I think they also had ham; you can check the menu at www.allearsnet.com to be sure. I cannot go without a rice cream at WDW (mmmmm), but enjoyed the veiled maiden. I haven't had the others, so I'm not sure about those. Good luck, and good eats!

They have 3 sandwiches, turkey, ham and cheese, and smoked salmon w/scrambled egg. With the dining plan you get a sandwich, salad, and choice of any dessert in the bakery, not just those three.

We were too, but when I told the CM we were on the dining plan and asked, she laughed and said we could get any sandwich, soup, any sweet pastry, and a large soda. My mom got the ham sandwich, soup, school bread, and diet coke, while I got the salmon/egg sandwich, soup, chocolate cake, and coke. The soup was delicious, by the way.

Rice Cream, which is my husband's favorite dessert, is a creamy rice pudding with a strawberry preserve type topping....I did search for an official description and am still looking for you. He has been having this dessert ever since Norway was built, we now call it the incredible shrinking rice cream as the size gets smaller and smaller each time we go.

Here is the recipe:

Rice Cream Ingredients:
small grain white rice 1 lb.(not instant)
water 3 cups
milk 4 cups
salt 1 tsp.
heavy cream 2 cups
sugar 4 tbls.
vanilla extract 2 tsp.

Method of Preparation:
Cook rice with water and salt for 15 min. Add milk and cook for 30 minutes until rice is tender and of a thick consistancy. Let cool. Whip cream with sugar and vanilla. Combine rice and cream and serve with strawberry sauce.

Strawberry Sauce Ingredients:
Strawberry Preserves 2 cups
water 1 cup
lemon juice 1 tbls.

Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix for one minute. Fresh strawberries may be added if desired. Serve rice cream in a bowl with sauce on the side or portion and cover with sauce.

I guess they must have changed the rules. When we went in March we were told that with the dining plan you could get salad (or I think maybe fruit), but not soup.

Rice cream is like a thick rice pudding. The consistency of rice cream to rice pudding is somewhat like the consistency of ricotta to cottage cheese, i.e., less runny.
