YEAH TAMMY!!

I am looking for tablemates! My children came to dinner with me a total of three times on the entire repo cruise. They just prefer room service or the buffet with the kids club to dinner. I guess it takes too long.

The flight to London will be overnight so you should get some sleep hopefully.

I was just looking and I can get nonstop from Atlanta (thanks Gydell) both ways. That is my best solution, I can drive to Atlanta pretty easy, it is about four hours.

OK my friends, I'm signing off now. I'll be back from WDW on October 28th and will catch up with everyone then... :goodvibes Goodnight!

Have fun. I hope you realize that we will have 500 pages by the time you get back. ;) See you then.

Okay, I have been tortured long enough. It has been killing me that I am not booked on this cruise. I just sent an email to my TA to move me from the christmas 2010 to this cruise. Once I have a room, I will post all my pertinent info.

So glad to see you joining us on this cruise. Hope things are going well for you and the kids....

(I'm the one that had your water delivered to your stateroom!)

Some of us have the experience of having to wait over 400 days (for the WB PC cruise booked on day 1) - but 600 is crazy!

I'm getting/reading feedback off of Fodor's Forum site - TRs and having ?s answered.

I'm excited to be on an Inagural cruise. Did you guys get special 1st time stuff on the Med cruise?

Everytime I have been on an inaugural cruise, there has been limited edition pins, merchandise and a special litho from Don "Ducky" Williams. Our living room is full of Don's artwork. Love his stuff! I'll be seeing him soon, I'll ask him if he is planning on 2010. (I'm sure he is planning on it, even if DCL doesn't have him booked yet.) Ducky told me before that he schedules about 6 months out at a time.

Linda, I want you to know that you totally rock. I will never forget how sweet this was. At the time, I was sort of living in a fog. But if I haven't told you...

Thanks!!!! You rock!!!

Can you tell I am a little excited today? I keep going to my yahoo account over and over to check for an email from my TA. I just want to see the reservation in writing. LOL. Patience is a virtue. Patience is a virtue.:)

Welcome Aboard to all the new people that have posted recently! I hope that takes care of everyone. We are adding people so fast I can't keep up.

Hi -- We're booked on a Cat 5, 7520 -- my name is Dale (32), and I'll be sailing with my partner (Jeff). We were on the first Med cruise in 2007 -- looking forward to all these ports! I've never been to any of these countries on the itinerary.

Thanks Gydell. I figured out that I was making excuses for something that I desperately wanted to do because I didn't want to spend money (I am a bit cheap). Welcome to my madness.

Hi all,

I've created a basic stand-alone calendar page now to keep track of all the celebrations, ports and shore times. In time I can add any other events that might get organised so everything is in one place. You can find it at:

http://www.wickesy.co.uk/cruise/northernsightsevents.htm

so take a look and let me know if there is anything I have missed or that you would like added/taken away.

I will add that when I do the update. Hopefully tonight!! :surfweb: :surfweb:

I forget how long we waited for the First Panama Cruise. We booked on day 1 and it seemed like forever for that one.

We have been on two "first" cruises. The Panama Canal East Bound in 2005 and the first Transatlantic in 2007. For the PC, each of the ports welcomed the "Mickey Ship" as we arrived. Fire boats, singers, children's school choirs, fireworks, it was fabulous! For the TA there was not as much of that. Which surprised me a little, but it was still great!

I have a couple of questions. Which is better: early dining or late dining? I am thinking late dining because of excursions and getting back in time. Should I be thinking about the time difference?

Also, when should I starting looking to book my flights? I am paying cash for them if that matters. I always book Southwest domestically so I have no experience with booking internationally. Thanks!

Airlines book 331 days out. I will let you know if I find any specials.

We went with late seating. I have a weird feeling that this cruise will be different and late seating will book up before early. It seems from this thread and a number of posts on the main cruise board that there may be less children going on the Baltic cruises. Couple that with a very port intensive cruise and I think you have the making of a lot of late seating preferences.

Start looking at flights about 10 or 11 months out. That is when they will start coming out. Don't wait too late, overseas flights general only go up. We went on an ABD trip last month to Italy. We bought the tickets at the 10 month mark and they only went up from the time we bought them. To see a number of flights at one time, go to a website like Expedia to get an idea of what flights are available. Then book direct with the airline.

I hope not many! We have enough luggage to carry without adding lots of formal wear. We only have 4 sea days and 1 is pirate night. Does anyone on the 11 night Med cruise in 2007 remember?

There was only 1 formal night. I think there may have been 2 semi-formals though. Or maybe I was dressing for 1 semi and Palo's.

Yes. The litho was the best! There was also special stuff for the kids. They had a fantastic leather book. You got a pamphlet that went in it for each port. The pamplets had games like word seeks, etc. It was FANTASTIC for the excursions. I hope they do something similar. It was definitely a keepsake book.

We had late for the Med and it worked out very well. But the port times were much, much later than they are for this cruise. Most of our ports we have to be onboard by 5, so I'm going to take early seating this time.

Although it's about 330 days, it depends on the airlines. We booked using points for the Med trip and we could begin booking much earlier than that. Some of the stuff had already been taken by day 345!!! And the airline we ended up on (Alitalia) didn't open up booking until day 315 or so.

Someone had something about Palo's. You can only make one reservation in advance for brunch, tea and dinner. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that you can't beg for additional ressies throughout the cruise. If they have room, they'll be more than happy to have you come. First night, last night and port nights are usually fairly open on long cruises like this.

the flight over and back will be the most challenging part of the trip for us. We will need to figure out a strategy for that.

Hello. Just wondering how old they are? When I took the Med cruise I was really worried about the flight part of it with my kids.

rip!

Nevertheless, I always say vacations are planned with wonderful anticipation, experienced with some discomfort and remembered with great fondness.

I love that!!! :thumbsup2

Hi ... I booked late dining for my Med 07 cruise As it was my first cruise, I still rushed back to see the shows. I found supper to be finished late, and missed some of the late night deck parties. This cruise, I'm going for early dining. I figure if I'm late getting back on the ship, then look out Topsiders.

WELCOME. I have 7520 on the WB Transatlantic. I'm gonna want a peek in your room. :lmao:

I changed us to 2631 from deck 1 - hope the others don't mind :)

Mind? Mind being a deck closer to the FOOD.....I don't think so!

Monica...our friends are torturing me to convince you to do the EB Transatlantic instead. When mentioning your concern with sea-sickness, Ian said...that's what the railings are for!:scared1: (BTW, cat 11 for two people $2321, cat 10 for two people $2681.):rolleyes1
