North Face Jacket- for cheap... please say it can be done!

Based on your name, I assume you are from Toledo, Ohio. If so, you can drive north about 1 1/2- 2hrs to Birch Run outlet. They have a Northface outlet store which has great deals...this is probably one of your best bets. Don't forget to get some other great deals (Pottery Barn, Gap, Banana Republic) and grab your Frankenmuth fried chicken for the drive home! Good luck.

if you are willing to be flexible......on color..perhaps get brown......I just received my order today from this jacket I ordered last week for $47. I ordered a pair of socks as well to put me over $50 and FREE SHIPPING.

I just got this exact one for my dd16. It came in a matter of days. I ordered spray hanitizer to get it just over the $50 mark for the free shipping. She has told all her friends about it too. I think it was a great deal.

I also want to say I bought a kids XL in the other denhali (brains freeze as to how to spell it). The sleeves were too short for me and my arms are just regular length. My dd didn't like it because it was too boxy in the middle for her. She ended up with an adult small but in the Khumbu style this time.

If you know anyone in China or who goes to China for work.....

When the hubby and I lived in Beijing we were able to buy them on the street near the factory where they were made. If you wanted one that said NorthFace they were like $30 US for the most expensive style. If you did not care about the logo, even though it was the exact same jacket it was $10.

I have two non-logo North Face Jackets that I have worn for about 5 years--one with the zip out lining (I had 3, but my cousin the trendy-brand name girl took the 3rd when we flew home for Christmas (at the time she had a couple of other NorthFace and swore they were perfect)). I generally can not be bothered with brand names, and only bought the jackets because they were cheap and a good deal.

All my other clothes were custom made when we lived in China. Nothing like a pair of jeans sewn for only your behind for the grand sum of $15. My husband had the best suits when we moved back to USA--but it does help to know about the garment industry, fabric, and basic construction (or you may have a one time use garment like one of Joe's co-workers purchased). My husband still uses the tuxedo we had made for him in China, and we spent less than $75 more than 5 years ago (or half the cost of a tux rental).:woohoo:

My dd is wanting a North Face (of course) and a family member would like to purchase something special for her for Christmas. I was thinking of having them consider buying the North Face but I'm totally not sure about sizing.

My teen dd is 5'10" tall. She does not fit into teen-sized girls shirts - she usually needs a woman's size XL or 16. Most of the women's styled North Faces seem to be fitted and I'm worried they will not fit her. Does anyone think a XL women's will fit or would I need to get her a man's North Face? If so, what size do you think?

This is totally out of my price range so I haven't really had her try any on or looked at them closely. It would be a total surprise for her if the family member gave her one so I hate to ruin the surprise by having her go to the store to try some on but on the other hand it would be very disappointing to have her get something that doesn't fit.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm a size 16 too and an XL was too tight for me... I'm also 5'10 and found a mens L or XL to fit best. The only difference in the mens and womens black Denali is a zipper on the jacket. They also had some really cute furry fleece coats at Dicks sporting goods.http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3697649

I did the SAME thing with the socks! lol I bought black and silver Quick Silver socks, they were only $5 something but worth it for free shipping.

I bought DD14 a beautiful one like the one above. I picked Purple Orchid in Small. It arrived the other day and I'm in love with it. I'm thinking of buying her the black one for $80 and keeping the purple for myself!

saw some at Marshalls tonight, kid size 59.99, didn't have time to check adult, but did see North Face ski pants too. Several Spyder jackets at a great price too.

I'm looking online and it looks like the XL girls and M women's sizing is very simlar. Can anyone justify this?

I actually wear a xs or sm womens NF and also have some in a girls m -- depends on the style.

How about 49.96 for boys brown or blue L, XL at http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___16715. Have ordered from here and they were excellent, even shipped to an office at a ski resort and it got there no problem. They are a in NJ. My daughter is 5"3, 1081bs and the XL fits her fine with a little room, it is a boxy fit.
They also have others for 69.00 in a variety of sizes, colors.

Thank you for the sportsbasement link! Got my daughter a closeout black NorthFace hoodie (M) ladies for 48--couldn't get the codes to work, so sucked up the 6 dollar shipping. Thanks so much!

I'm 5 feet tall and on the petite side. I own a girls Denali in large. The sleeves are perfect, but I would have preferred it to be more fitted.
