North Face fleece...what's special about it?

I always see posts on here for North Face fleece jackets, and even on sale, they seem awfully expensive.

What's special about them? Is it just the brand name logo, or is there something different about the fleece itself? I've gotten some really nice fleece (dense and tightly woven) at Land's End and Eddie Bauer, so I'm wondering if something is different with North Face.

Educate me please!

I think it's just the brand name. Coming from a mom who shops at Lands End, except when her pre-teen asks for North Face for Christmas!!
