North East Ohio

Spent 7 years in beautiful Ashtabula, Ohio as a kid. Haven't been back since 1975, but I have always wanted to go back and look around. (Was born in Cleveland and that is where we moved back to after the Ashtabula years.)
I see some westside Clevelanders here - we lived off W150th. I did Jr high at Our Lady of the Angels and high school at Magnificat

I grew up on the West Side of Cleveland as well.

Grew up on the North Shore (Catawaba Island) Spent 18 1/2 years there. Spent the last 28 yrs in Fl. Like it much better...no snow :thumbsup2

 Me! Me! Pick me!!! I live in Canton - HI everyone!!!

Georgina... My daughter's HS soccer team played against Magnificat every year! They have an AWESOME soccer team! She played club for West Side Stars and did a lot of club playing and practicing on the Magnificat fields.

Nice to meet everyone!

My family and I have vacationed every year of my life in either Geneva or Madison. My parents have gone every year of their 50 year marriage except this past summer - Dad was in the hospital and insisted we go without them. It's great to see my kids and their cousins as well as my great-nieces/nephews enjoy the lake. Summer wouldn't be complete without that trip.

If there's ever a meet in the third week of July, I'll be there!

Swea pea, I don't get it. You vacation HERE? REALLY? Can I ask why? :rotfl: I have met alot of people who rent cabins and stuff but I guess growing up next to Lake Erie you just don't appreciate it. To all the west siders my dh is a graduate from John Marshall. 1981. GLAD TO MEET YA ALL! :thumbsup2

Not only do I vacation there, but I pack the van, the car carrier, and the kids and drive 8 hours to get there when lovely Virginia Beach is only an 1 1/2 hours away!

Now you want to talk weird....I have a girlfriend from college who lives in Philadelphia - also an 8 hour drive - that comes with us as well! She's the one I don't get. I drive 8 hours but at least it's my family. She just does it because she's an only child and never had a great big family vacation so she tags along with us.

There's about 30 of us in all. Each family rents their own cottage and cooks one night for the whole crew. Every night after the kids are in bed we have a different adult beverage to enjoy. My personal favorite is wine night when we break out the Raspberry Reisling from DeBonne. Can't get that stuff in Virginia.

I guess you do have to be a tourist to really appreciate it. I've been to a lot of different places and had the opportunity to go even more - and yet every year it draws us back. Skip a stone in Lake Erie for me :goodvibes

Hey, we're neighbors! I'm from Louisville!

Swea Pea - I'm crackin up! We wre just discussing going to VA.Beach!Lets plan for a winery next year! Have you tried Old Mill winery? Its the best! :woohoo:

Virginia Beach is pretty, but you have to watch out for stuff. You know, jellyfish, stingray, sharks :scared1: - that kind of stuff. The feeling of walleye swimming between your legs is nothing compared to what you get in the ocean.

I have to say, we've never ventured to the Old Mill. I know my parents have but we mostly go to DeBonne, Feranti, and of course the Old Firehouse since we stay on the strip and we can walk there. I'm game though! A winery/DIS meet is just the kind of thing I can get into!
