Born, raised, and live in the same small town east of Charlotte. We honestly see no need to leave our beautiful state.

Mrs. Dash, your post reminded me of a line of a song a "friend of a friend" wrote about NC, "she'll let you leave, but she'll call you back again."

Hey!
-I am from Thomasville (home of the big chair). We cruised (showing my age a little bit) Strafford Rd. in Winston Salem.
-I went to school at UNC-Charlotte
-DH and I got married- moved to Raleigh, then Knightdale-right outside of Raleigh
-We had a job transfer to Albemarle (or actually Norwood)
-and now we are back in Charlotte-near Harrisburg and the Speedway.

DH is being laid off in a few months, so we might be leaving NC?
I really hate to think of leaving the Old North State. I teach NC History to my fourth graders and it is such a great state full of culture, history and beauty. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we can stay here.

I've lived here all my life. Born and raised in the mountains. Spent four years at UNC-Chapel Hill, then another eight years in Chapel Hill and Raleigh. We've been 20 miles outside of Charlotte since.

But I'm from White Lake, NC.

It's a little town located in the SouthEastern part of our state. We are 2 hours South of Raleigh & 40 minutes or so South of Fayetteville.

I have lived here my whole life. Proud to be a "Carolina Girl"!!

I'm actually a Michigan girl. But after college, moved here and stayed. Over 15 years now. We love it here.

My DDs are both TRUE NC girls, being born right here at Forsyth Medical Center. They love to point out "their" hospital whenever we go to the mall.

My husband has fond childhood memories of vacations in a pop up tent at White Lake.

I remember cruising on Stratford road and turning at the Putt-Putt just to do it all over again.

Count me in. I live near Pinhurst, but I visit near Charlotte nearly every week. Love this state and all it has to offer. I'm just a couple of hours away from the beach or the mountains. And I reside smack dab in the middle of a golfer's paradise.
