The Dulles Hyatt has been closed for two days due to at least 60 guests becoming ill from a "Norovirus", as quoted by our local TV news. I couldn't find anything in print. However, it proves the point that it can strike anywhere and ISN'T limited to cruise ships, as many people believe!

oh, gee, so it's NOT just the Norwalk virus on the DCL in November??
It seems like there's a new virus everyday now!!! Hopefully, everyone will be ok.

Jeanny:teeth:

Norovirus used to be called Norwalk-like virus.

It basically does the same thing Norwalk does.

Both Norovirus and Norwalk virus affect schools, cruise-ships, offices, hotels, etc etc etc year after year.

We only HEARD about it this year, because we were in a low news cycle when the cruise-illnesses occurred. According to the CDC, cruise illnesses this past winter occurred at similar rates of past winters. We only HEARD about it more this year because the media decided it was suddenly an important issue (there was no other news to report... we were between elections and wars).
