Record snowiest season: Washington (56"), Baltimore (77"), Philadelphia (78"), Atlantic City (58"), among others.

In one season, Philly had 3 of its top 10 snowstorms of record. Two of these occurred within 4 days in early February!

I can only pray... Not again. Not sure this is scheduled to hit Philly, though.... but wunderground.com has us getting snow on Sunday.... 70% chance.

Same with us.

But then again, I don't know!!! LOL I was watching the weather segment on our local news station last night and he kept saying that he's really not sure what to say about the upcoming weather for Sunday. He says that one map says a snow storm (about 1-2 feet worth) then the other map says a possible dusting and another map that says we get nothing!!!! He says that in all his years of doing the weather, he's never seen anything like it before (will all the different maps saying something different) Soooo, I guess we'll just make sure we get done everything we need to get done by Sunday afternoon.

I just know, I'm not looking forward to it. I like the look of snow when it's falling, but after that....I wish it would melt. LOL I hate driving in it. And if school is cancelled I don't get paid for that day off (drive school bus) So it sucks.

Man I hope not! and if it does hits Philly keep it down there, ok?

My migraines always get worse when a storm is coming and this morning I woke up with one, actually both a migraine and a sinus headache. My money is on something big & bad heading my way in the Lehigh Valley, PA (about 1 hr Northeast of Philly).

Oh no, I woke up with a sinus headache this morning too. I've always been sensitive to drastic barometer changes. Maybe we're in for a whopper.

I'm in the LV too - did you get hit with that weird snow the other morning? I was listening to WODE out of Easton and they're like "oh, it's sunny here" and I look out the window and it's snowing. SLIPPERY, too - taking DS to school, I almost went completely through a stop sign and then I wasn't too sure I'd make it up the hill to his school. After dropping him off, head on down Race Street towards the airport, hit Airport Road and there's just a dusting. :confused3 WTH?!?! I'm talking the span of a mile or so from whiteout to dusting. :upsidedow

I'm on Long Island an they are saying we might get a little snow on Sunday. That makes me think we'll get hammered with a foot or more:lmao:

I'm very close to Easton and we didn't get anything, just a few flurries. I always tease my husband we moved to a weird "LOST" like location because so many times storms hit everything around us but just skip us. It's like the Red Sea parting and it's usually visible on Doppler radar, so very very odd:confused:

If you don't mind me saying so, check your tires. It's been so unusually cold here that all the tires on one of my cars was 1/3 too low on air, I just noticed it Tuesday but who knows how long its been that way. I'm used to the cold but this has been ridiculous, I don't even want to leave the house, brrrrrrrrrr.

We had enough snow last winter to last me a lifetime. I hope this storm will head out to sea!

Check out http://www.footsforecast.org/. His site was the first to predict the huge snows last winter, and is usually accurate.

With it being the last weekend before Christmas, a weekend when people may be having football parties to watch the games, and snow in the forecast, can you imagine how crowded the grocery stores will be?!

I usually get a migraine with the weather too. I thought the one I am getting was due to a lack of coffee yesterday now I'm a little worried. I do not want to live through another year like last year. I had snow in front of my house until March because we don't get the sun on my side of the street. I am recovering from knee surgery, just arthroscopic, but still surgery. Ironically the snow last year was how I tore my knee up. Hiking in 3 feet of snow on the sand dunes does not make for sure footing but it was pretty. The weather reports this morning were so iffy I am hoping the storm goes further out off of the coast.

I am in Suffield, CT and I am hoping for snow to fall in huge amounts, and melt by monday morning... Is that too much to ask?

Funny you should mention the parting of the seas as it regards to the weather in our area. I'm in Bethlehem Township and you are absolutely correct, almost every storm this summer split and went around us! Things were so dry for a while we'd get excited everytime some green showed on the radar. After a while and no rain, we'd check the radar again and sure enough, it split right around us. Now I'm praying the snow does the same thing!!!

:lmao: Wouldn't it be nice to have a snowcloud gun? Zap it and no snow for you! :thumbsup2

LuvOrlando - I was thinking the same thing about the tires. Man I hate checking tire pressure when it's this cold out, though! It seems to take absolutely forever and then my fingertips are numb by the time I'm done. Hmmmm, what's the temp in Lake Buena Vista?

That's because none of the weather people want to commit to anything. Usually Geoff Fox is all over this, as well as Gil and Brad Field, etc . . .they are all confused by this system . . .I'd like to see it snow though, it will get me out of going to my in-laws on Sunday . . .:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

This is exactly what has me worried. On the noon news the weatherman said that "most" models had this storm heading out to sea, with only one or two bringing it close enough for snow, and then only 1 or 2 inches.

BUT.......

Oh no, I woke up with a sinus headache this morning too. I've always been sensitive to drastic barometer changes. Maybe we're in for a whopper.

I've had a headache all day. I only get them when the barometer goes way up or way down. ARRRGH!!!

Now I know what I want for Christmas! A Snowcloud Gun! :lmao:
A winning lottery ticket so we could retire and move to Florida wouldn't be too shabby, either. :)

LuvOrlando, thank you for the tire advice.

checked out foots site...

us line from the 1890 publication "Sign of the Four" is what millions on the East coast, and meteorologists aplenty are faced with deciding: Identifying the TRUE forecast we all need to make an informed decision about our lives for the next 60 hours.

The truth is, there is no good answer at present. Before you get all fired up and think our forecast team is choking in the face of challenge, take a close look at our proposed forecast solution in the Winter Stormcast zone on this site: http://www.footsforecast.org/winterwx.html. Until we unpack the data, we have no problem putting in print the real answer: "At this time, we DON'T KNOW what is going to happen." Now having read that, for the remainder of today...just remain calm, breathe deeply and as an added precaution JUST IN CASE -- take extra work home if you are a teacher from Richmond, VA to Boston, MA (as if you need EXTRA work). Everyone else, pay close attention to your NWS advisory statements as this may be a highly fluid forecasting weekend! (Forecaster Foot, Dundalk MD)

Guess I'll be taking home extra work tonight and heading to the grocery store on the way home rather than waiting to do my shopping on my normal Saturday.
