I have to come home 2+ hours earlier now! Instead of leaving MCO at 7:20, we have to leave at 5:05 PM. We were planning on spending our last day at Epcot and MK with lunch at CP at 2 PM, boat ride back to WL, and DME to MCO around 4:30. (Because doesn't DME take you like 3 hours before your flight?)

Now with this change, we'll have to be ready for DME at 2 PM, won't we? That sucks!!! I have to try to change my ADR now for CP and rearrange our touring plan for that day.

What would you do? Stick with DME for the return trip or try to eek out another hour at the park and take a taxi or car service?

Any and all recommendations are appreciated!!!

You didn't say what airline you're flying, but you may be able to get your flight changed w/o extra charge. We're flying Delta & our return flight changed to about 2 hours earlier. I was really bummed, because, like you, it changed my whole last day plan. So, I called Delta to see if there was anything they could do. The flight we were scheduled for was the last direct flight that day. They offered me a flight with a connection, which really didn't appeal to me. Or, they offered me seats on the direct flight that left at noon the next day. BINGO! I'll take that! Now we'll have the whole evening! And the pixie dust to top off this deal is that I got a postcard with a PIN that gave us a discount on the extra night!

So, it's worth a try to call your airline!

Me? I would call the airline and cry and blame it all on goofy4tink.

You? As bamagirl suggests, you should call the airline and politely but firmly let them know that this change is not acceptable. BEFORE YOU DO, log on to your airline's website and find alternate flights that will work for you, so you have a solution to present to the CSR. But don't change if they're going to make you pay.

Hey!!! What's up with that??? That's it...start a revolution with me to blame. And here I thought I was a nice person....I'm so not feeling the love here :hippie:

If you have already talked with the airline and accepted the flt. changes then your stuck unless they make another change.

If not I agree with above poster, check out your airlines schedule first. This may now be last flight, or maybe you have non-stop and all they have is connecting that would get you home at some unforsaken hour. If you find something that works then call the airline and very very nicely see what can be done. Tell CSR that you saw the flight change and it's really not what you wanted. Do not pay for any changes expecially for 2 hrs.

This was a few years ago, on Delta. I had the same thing happen. I had what I thought was the perfect trip, leaving Disney on Sunday evening after Thanksgiving. Then that evening flight was cancelled although they gave me the next best flight, the same afternoon late. Just a bummer, did not make any fuss.

Hey!!! What's up with that???
Hi Diane.

Suggested reply, "I didn't come here to be made sport of!"

(The person in Eastern Mass. I heard that from shall remain unnamed although judging from your location I am guessing that unfortunately you may be out of range of his voice.)

I can feel your pain. Just found out today the airline we have tickets on is pulling out of our airport in Oct. and we had tickets for Jan. They said we could get our $20. back (flying frequent flyer) or fly out of nearest airport (1 hour away). With a 6:25am flight...I don't think so! So we had to pay almost $600. for two tickets we weren't planning on purchasing this year. Bummer:headache:

Can you guys please post your airlines? We are flying Jetblue and I'm wondering if they do this too. I just booked our flight home the last flight of the evening (7:55 PM) because it was dirt cheap and more time in DW vs. an earlier flight and pay more money to the airline, I'll give my money to Disney thank you :)
;)

Thanks!

My airline was US Air. I already accepted because the earlier flight is now the latest flight of the day (which, to me is too early, but what do I know?). I'm not happy about the change, but since I've yet to master the ability to sprout wings and fly myself home, I guess I have no choice. As much as I'd love to stay another night, we are due back to work the next day, so it actually will work in our favor as far as getting home close to 11 PM instead of 1 AM...if you can call getting back earlier to go to bed earlier to get to work the next day "good." :rotfl:

Delta did it to us too. I called, was extremely nice to the lady, and she changed my flights to even better times for me. Just kill the employees with kindness:thumbsup2
