Hiya
I've been actively working on my health/weight since December 5th exactly. So far I have lost 16 pounds, and my mini-goal is to lose 65 pounds. The reason is because my mom currently has an actively failing liver due to NonAlcoholic Steatohepatitis, and she is on the transplant list, but if I can I'd like to be able to donate part of my liver to her. I have applied to do so, but they have informed me that I'm too fat (BMI too high) to be a donor, and that I'd have to lose at least 65 lbs to be able to donate.
I've spoken with my doctor about it, and we went painfully over my whole medical history. It was actually kind of embarrassing to see those high numbers in the weight column
So anyway, the doctor suggested trying an appetite suppressant, and prescribed one for me so that she could monitor the effects it has on me. I've never been very big on any kind of medication, so was VERY leery about it, but since I want to do anything I can for my mom I decided to go for it. It works very well for me, I am VERY happy with it and my doctor is impressed with how well it's working for me and without side-effects.
I don't intend to take them after 2 months, but am glad that she gave me the "kick-start" I apparently needed!
So, yeah, that's me. And I actually have a question, heh heh!
I have been going to the gym, averaging about 5 days a week. The difficulty is that I'm unable to get there for extended lengths of time usually, and wonder if it's wasting my time to get two 1/2 hour sessions in rather than being able to do a full hour at a time? I can get a half hour in at lunch without a problem, but no longer than that; I can get there for about a half an hour AFTER work as long as it's not a minute longer. Is this going to be effective for me? Weekends are better, I'm usually there for a couple of hours lazing my way through the weight machines and gabbing with the employees
Wow, long post, sorry!
