nonsmoking at HRH

FYI to all.
Was calling to make sure that I had requested nonsmoking for my upcoming trip.
Lady said that the entire HRH is going nonsmoking at the end of September.
Also, btw, suites have always been nonsmoking.

That is good news. If you have breathing problems, I would suggest requesting a room that has always been non-smoking. We were at HRH 2 years ago and got, what we were told by management, was the last room in the hotel. Turns out the only thing that indicated this was a non-smoking room was the sign on the table. The room's overpowering smell of longterm exposure to cigarette smoke was evident upon opening the door. Hindsight, we wished we had just requested to move to another hotel. No opening of windows or air purifier use would have fixed this room. My son and I were effected as a result.

You make a very interesting point ! I have a non-smoking room for October, and I would absolutely HATE it if this was a smoking room just 2 weeks earlier..I can't see them getting all of the particulates out of the carpet, etc....Is there a way to know what rooms are currently smoking, to avoid getting one ?

club level has been a non smoking area.
most of the deluxes and suites also non smoking.


i think the only smoking rooms they have had at hrh are the ones on the outer wings that are a million miles to the elevator.....



when you make your ressie, tell them you will not take a prior smoking room.
if your ressie has already been made, call the hotel directly 5 days out and tell them your request.

rooms are generally assigned about 3-4 days out of your arrival.
exceptions to that are special needs/requests.


and maybe people with hot tempers......
