Hello everyone! Just wondering... if I wanted to organize a couple of group breakfasts and/or dinnners... how hard is it to get reservations for large groups? What is the earliest that you can make reservations? What restaurants would you suggest if it were for one breakfast and 2 dinners? How do you go about letting your guest know that they are invited to join you for these group dinners, but at their own cost? Or is it rude to do that?
Thanks guys! You are all so wonderfully helpful!

I don’t believe it’s difficult to get reservations for large groups, though some restaurants will be better suited to hosting a larger group. You can make reservations beginning 90 days before you arrive. Just call 1-407-WDW-DINE. A new perk for onsite guests is you can call just once 90 days before you arrive and make all your reservations for your entire trip instead of having to call repeatedly as the 90 day mark for each different day of your trip arrives.

‘Ohana at the Polynesian handles large groups well. They serve both dinner and breakfast there. :)

if you're not hosting the meal just put the average pricing next to it. ie: farewell breakfast at chefs mickey at the contemporary monday at 9am $16.99 per child, $18.99 per adult.

we are doing some hosted events, a welcome dinner at dtd's rainforest cafe which we booked in april for next march through the restaurant & are doing some bride & groom events with our wedding party. we put the info on our wedding website, our pretrip newsletter & in their welcome bag itiniary.

some restaurants allow bookings before 90days like the dinner shows at wdw & some dtd restaurants. although the majority of your ressies can only be made at the 90day mark typically with group reservations or your em if youre booking a private buy out event at a restaurant or venue.

I was thinkiong the same thing with my wedding. I wanted to have soem group dinners and meetings but the cost is too high for my number of guests. The idea to put the price down makes sense. Does anyone think its rude to do that? I might make reservations for the morning after at Chef Mickeys and have people come if they want. :earsgirl:

I was worried about the same thing... that is sounds or seems a little rude putting the prices. I've asked a couple people who are coming what they thought, and they all seem to think it is a good idea too.

We had made up 'Welcome to Our Wedding Baskets' a few months back and put all kinds of goodies in there. Including itineraries & menus of some of the extra meals we have planned. the menus gave our guests a chance to see what the restaurants serve and an idea of meal costs. I liked doing that because it wasn't just telling people to bring money, it was also showing them what they would be eating. But it really helped the people who have never been to WDW or haven't been there in over 15 years. I loved the baskets we did, it was alot of fun and they were a big hit.
