Assuming that you eat 21 meals a week (3 per day), how many of those meals contain meat? This includes chicken, pork, beef, turkey, basically anything but fish.

My coworker thinks that most people don't eat meat more than 5 meals containing meat per week and I think the number is much higher. I think when you factor in lunch meat, bacon, pepperoni and other pizza toppings, etc. the number will be higher.

Usually have some kind of meat almost every day at least for lunch and dinner. Rarely have meat for breakfast, so I guess I would say 14 per week normally.

I would have to agree with this -- I usually have 13/14 meals of meat per week. I never have meat for breakfast and once in a while have a salad with no meat for lunch. Can't imagine only have 5 servings of meat per week.

Definitely way more than 5! I'd say breakfast on the weekend usually contains meat and sometimes during the week as well, so 2 or 3 breakfast meals. Lunch usually always contains some meat, but I don't eat lunch every day, maybe 4 days a week. And I eat dinner 7 nights a week. I'd say that 5-6 of those dinners contain meat (since we aren't counting fish, and I will eat one non-meat dinner every week or so).

So for me, that adds up to probably 11 on average.

Seven.

Always dinner. Never lunch. Breakfast only if there is bacon! ;)

We never eat fish. We eat meat with lunch and dinner every day and on the weekends we have bacon, sausage and or ham with breakfast.

I'd say probably 4 times a week. We're big seafood lovers here so that's the bulk of our meals

counting 3 meals a day, I would say 5, maybe 6?

Never for breakfast, sometimes for lunch, and usually for dinner. I'd say probably 11 or 12 meals!

Five is about right for me. I only eat meat for breakfast on Sundays (bacon!), for lunches, I usually take leftover potatoes, rice, veggies, etc, and for dinner we'll probably eat meat four or five nights--the other nights we have fish or eggs. I don't really care for a lot of meat--the only beef I really eat is hamburger. I like poultry a lot and I'm just okay with pork.

DH eats a lot more meat than I do--he has it for lunch most days, too.

That would depend on how you classify "meat" -- if you count animals that swim, then 21. If you don't, probably about 12. I would think that eggs count as animal protein, too.

I've always eaten a high-protein diet, and I can't eat beans, so yeah, every meal normally has some kind of flesh unless I'm away from home and dealing with limited breakfast choices, in which case I go with tree nuts to get my protein fix.

We usually only eat meat once or twice a week- but if you count leftovers (such as eating the leftovers from that one meal for another meal, then I guess it would be 2-3 times).

Pretty much every meal except breakfast. On weekends we sometimes have meat but not always. We love fish, but very rarely have it.

Yep.. 5 isn't too far off for us... We only have meat with dinner 3-4 nights... probably 2 of those dinners have leftovers for the next day's lunch. We also limit the portion size of meat pretty well too... Tonight we used 1/2 lb chicken for the three of us and there are leftovers from that for lunch tomorrow.

I'm willing to bet we are in the vast minority in America.

(Our dogs, however, eat meat at all their meals. :) )

This. :thumbsup2 Except sometimes we do eat fish or seafood. But on average, 16.

Breakfast almost never unless it is a special occasion. So, 0 there.

Lunch depends on what I have that day. Sometimes it is meat on a sandwich, sometimes leftovers that may contain meat, or sometimes I have cheese, crackers, and fruit. So lets say 5 times a week.

Dinner changes depending on what we feel like. We usually have at least 1 seafood based meal a week and sometimes have meatless, though rarely. So I would say about 5-6.

So I would say on average I eat meat 10-11 times per week. Some weeks more, some weeks less.

I was just talking about this with DS14. He and DH are carnivores and have to have meat for dinner every night. I could do without, but since I cook for the whole family I always have meat for dinner too.

I very rarely eat breakfast and only eat lunch occasionally. So I will just tell you about DH and DS. Out of 21 meals they probably eat meat for 14 of them.

I'd say on average 14-16 meat meals per week. Most lunches and dinners and quite often Saturday morning we'll do a big brunch. Once in a great while we'll have something like ravioli or manicotti, and twice a month or so we'll have fish, but most nights is a regular meat/starch/veggie meal.
