Let me preface this by saying I have nothing against scrapbooking, and even have lots of materials to do it, but have never taken any classes or gotten my act together to actually *make* something. So this is my first attempt. Oh, and I have read some of the threads w/ideas for making scrapbooks.

well, my 4 yr old doesn't know it, but we are going to Disney in 2 weeks. She is a princess freak, and I figure she will probably be into collecting autographs. i looked everywhere for a small, acid free type book and the only kind I could find that was small also only had 20 pages in it and was not reloadable, which kinda bummed me out (we don't have a lot of resources here -- so i mainly looked at Walmart, Michaels and Joanns). I am planning on following some of the suggestions here and taking a picture of the character and putting it across from or on the same page as the autograph. Anyway, so now I have this small book and it has a plain white cover which right now is shrink-wrapped in plastic. the temptation for me is to leave the cover as-is since it will protect the book for now and then decorate it when we get home. But i am sure that my daughter would prefer it if the front were already decorated when I give it to her.

so now my problem is how should i decorate the front? I was really hoping to put a castle on the front, but haven't seen any castle stickers or other embellishments. has anyone seen stickers or those Jolees things of just the castle? should I hot glue ribbon on it? should I stick an applique on it? i am so not creative when it comes to things like this!

How big is the book? I have seen a really cute castle shakerbox at ACMoore. If you will pm me with your email address, I will see what I can find and email you the results.

You may want to check www.twopeasinabucket.com - they have photos of what other people have done - you can search on disney autograph book and you will probably get some good examples. I haven't tried it yet but I have looked for other things there and had good results.

Thank you so much for the websites and other suggestions! I am actually finding myself kinda looking forward to this now!

How about Rub-ons? I know they have Disney ones, you could just coat it with decopauge to protect it.

I went to Recollections where they have a cute fantasy castle, cut it out, decorated it a bit and now, once the titles are on (I have 2 kids), I will slather on the decopauge medium to protect it.
