We are staying for a week in September. I used the FPP and magic bands a few months ago and I've been planning for our upcoming trip for months. So, I'm on top of it and comfortable with it....I think. But, not we will have an aunt and uncle meeting us for just one day while we are at the parks.

I want to make sure I guide them correctly before they come. They have been coming to WDW for many years but haven't been there since the changes. If they want a magic band they have to purchase it, correct? And, they will stop at a kiosk, in the park, to choose their FPP selections? They won't be buying a ticket until they arrive.

For their situation, as you described, yes, your assumptions are correct.

Just a note:

If they ORDER park tickets within the next month, or so, they will be able to make FP+ (or FPP) reservations up to 30 days in advance of their day(s) in the park(s.)

That way, you can help them pick out and schedule FP+ in advance, if you like.

The tickets should be ordered as "Will Call" and will cost no more than purchasing them at WDW and there will be no postage charged, as the tickets can be easily picked up outside the park.
