We are having an Escape ceremony at SBP, and for dinner we plan to just book a group reservation at Il Mulino, meaning no F&B minimums and we can just eat off the standard menu. :thumbsup2 (reason for this is we plan to have an Epcot DP so we're going to ask everyone to skip dessert, and I understand that private meals have set menus which include dessert??)

Does anyone know if we can have decor moved from our cake table at the cake/champagne celebration to our table at Il Mulino? even though it's not a private meal?? I was thinking it would be nice to have some favours laid out aswell. Does anyone know if this would possible?

All advice welcome.. i'm a bit clueless when it comes to stuff like this :goodvibes

(p.s if anyone has the F&B minimum for a group meal at Il Mulino i'd be interested to find out anyway :cutie:)

I believe elsewhere I read that the only food that Disney will box up and/or move is your wedding cake.

I e-mailed the restaurant about this, as I was considering them for a reception meal a while back now. I am pretty sure that they said they would be happy to lay out favors and move decor in from the ceremony, but I am not 100% sure and I have deleted the e-mail now as it is no longer an option for us. We are a fairly small party and if I want my DP (and I most certainly do!!), I will have to meet the minimum of $7500.00 which now applies to Escape weddings with a dessert party and in order to meet this minimum, my reception will have to be privately catered too!!
I don't know about moving the cake and champagne to the restaurant.
Incidently, I am pretty certain that you do not have to stick with set menus for Escape private receptions and can have dessert omitted if you wish

I had my reception at bluezoo...

Firstly, you can have set menus customized. The set menu for our bluezoo meal included a dessert. I didn't want dessert because of the DP, so it was removed from the menu and the cost per person was reduced.

Secondly, the decor from my ceremony was moved to bluezoo by Disney. There was a $50 moving free.

thanks everyone!! that's great that we will be able to have favours and decor on our table even though it won't be a private dining event, i think if we pay a lot for decor on our cake table it will be worth the $50 to have it moved to our table :thumbsup2 just one more question if you don't mind me asking..

I can't imagine we would meet the F&B minimums (i'm guessing it is around $1000 at Il Mulino??), so i think we are going to stick with just booking an ADR, can I book our meal at Il Mulino through our DFTW Planner? or do i need to go through the Swan and Dolphin Resort?

TIA :flower3:

You will probably have to go through the event manager at Il Mulino. Call the restaurant directly.

Also, how many people are you planning on having?

How many is your party if you don't mind my asking?
If it is a small party and you don't mind not having a 'private' area of the restaurant, just booking a normal ADR should be fine, although, I think that some restaurants like to seat larger parties towards the beginning or end of service.
If you are having a dessert party, you have to meet the $7500.00 minimum right? I would have liked to have just a private meal after our Escape VR next year but I will not give up the idea of a dessert party and I would struggle to meat the minimum with the package, my few add ons and my DP alone. We will be a small party of between 11 and 15 though.

if everyone we hope to come can make the trip, it will be a maximum of 20 including ourselves, but due to cost i think it will be around 14 including ourselves as i can't see a few people being able to save up the money :sad2:

one part of me would like to have a DFTW private event simply to make things easier, but i just don't think we'll meet the minimums, and i have read the minimums for places like the attic are over $4500 if the event ends after 5pm!?!? that's crazy money, and plus we are fussy eaters and our favourite food is Italian so we are definately stuck on Il Mulino :thumbsup2

I think we will still be able to meet the new minimum of $7500 as we plan on having mickey and minnie at the cake and champagne celebration ($1200) the dessert party itself i reckon will come to around $1000 including DPS photography, and we have budgetted $500 for upgrades, decor etc.. so we should be fine meeting the $7500 so we can still have our DP :goodvibes

thanks for your continous help! much appreciated!! :woohoo:

Aw it all sounds really lovely!!!
The F&B minimums for later events are the reason that we decided on a brunch reception and then I break before the DP. We will also have a number of guests (probably 3 or 4) who are over 70 and a couple of smallish children, so on reflection, a break might be a good idea!!!
Have you checked out the ball room options - I think some of them are a minimum of $500.00 (eg Key West Room) and you can completelt customize the menu too:thumbsup2
