My Bil and Sil and joining us for a few days in Feb, but only going to a park one day.

They are looking for things to do for say 3-4 hours a day

Other then DTD and resort hopping , what else is there ?

Tour the other resorts.
Rent a bike or boat.
Mini golf.
Take the free boat rides from:
MK to WVL
OKW to DTD
MK to GF to Poly to MK
Walk the broadwalk area.
Have lunch at the GF Cafe.
Have lunch at Kona's
Have lunch at Sanaa's
See the MK fireworks from the outside.
See the epcot fireworks from the BC lighthouse.

Just to name a few.....

You mention other than Downtown Disney, have you considered the AMC Theater for a movie or better yet the Dine in Theater both at DTD! We love movies and enjoy them even when at Disney. A nice break from the parks!

Golf, tennis.... Miniature golf at Disney as well! (Not my cup of tea but maybe yours)

Spa (available at a few resorts) for a mani/pedi, facial, massages etc.

A daily game of cards, Scrabble, or Boggle by the pool is something we enjoy. We keep these in our Owner's Locker, but games are also available for check-out at all of the community halls.

There are some behind-the-scenes tours that don't require a theme park admission. We love tours and try to do at least one a year.

Characters In Flight balloon ride at DTD.

Carriage rides at Fort Wilderness and Port Orleans.

The floral arrangement class at SSR has been on my to-do list for years, but we haven't made it there yet. Same with the ranger-led tour at the Wilderness Lodge.

There are recreational activities at most of the resorts that you don't see used very often. For example, many of the resorts have tennis courts; SSR shuffleboard and basketball courts, and a horseshoe pitch; there's a Bocce court at BLT; Wilderness Lodge has a Tetherball Pole and a beach volleyball court.

Fitness centers, spas, jogging trails.

Golf

Welcome Home Wednesday

I have never been to a dine in theater, but saw the one at DTD has this. Do they sit you at tables for the movie? Or do you have a tray that fits on the sit? Just curious how this works. We may give it a try next time.

They just opened a new bowling alley (Splitsville) in DTD as well.

On two different occassions, I have taken grandkids to the Pirates Dinner Theater and Arbian Nights Dinner Theater. We had a blast at both.

my kids and i recently discovered the Winter/Summerland mini golf! It was aaaammmmaaaazing!!!! dvc discount too!!

Depends on the time of the year but I could easily spend a full day or two sipping cocktails by the pool. :thumbsup2

I never even knew you could do that.
Also, most resorts offer free movies, either by the pool or the beach, depending on the resort. Sometimes when eating at another resort, it's just as fun to eat from the CS there. When we went to AKL, we ate at Mara, hummus, butternut squash soup, pita chips, and zebra domes. Delicious!

We spent a lot of time at the pool one trip, and it was by far our most memorable trip.

We also toured some of the hotels that we weren't staying at, even spending a night watching the movie by the campfire at Fort Wilderness Campground. That was a lot of fun, no matter what your age.

Take a tour of the Gaylord Palms Resort, it is offsite but can be an enjoyable time. They have three acres of three different Fla environments under a glass roof.

Not sure if you want to just be on Disney. Wicked is on tour in downtown Orlando in February. We usually don't venture farther than the outlets/shopping malls so I am anxious to spend time downtown.

Our favorite non-park activities have been mentioned but here they are again :)
*tours like the one at WL
*DTD shopping, people watching etc
*movies
*mini golf
*Bob at POR
*water parade
*view from the TOWL
*eating, eating, eating
*spa treatment
*spending time on the Boardwalk

Last year DH and I went for a weekend w/o the parks. We stayed a VFW and spent most of our time at the camp ground. We walked over or took the water taxi to FW, rented a canoe (really cheap by Disney standards) but they also have horse back riding, archery, and a knock out hiking trail.
We took a wagon ride at night. This isn't the carriadge ride but a wagon ride. Again, very reasonable and fun.
We took the water taxi over to the Poly for dinner and then back again.

They did have the movie/campfire thing in FW but we didn't do that.

Also, the animal viewing at AK. Go back at night and do the free night vision of the animals. It's amazing. They also have story telling around the fire at AKL. The stories are definately told for kids but they are fun and it's very relaxing.

DTD best option

Pool day

City walk (at universal if they have a car)

or water park or more pool days

mini golf

horse n carriage ride

drive to Daytona beach

poly lau

movies put on by resort nightly.

AK view animals.
