Our next trip (August 2019) is focused on Universal (Harry Potter!) but we are planning to do a few Disney things too. Maybe going to do the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. Hoping to do the Pirates and Pals Firework Voyage as we couldn't do that last time we were at Disney. But thinking of doing one more non-park Disney dining experience and open for suggestions. Looking for something fun/unique, likely character dining, that you think is 'worth' the money, if you know what I mean. My daughter will be 11 (so adult pricing for buffets :( ).

Thanks in advance for sharing your ideas!

We aren't big fans of the character dining, but a unique experience with outstanding food that I would suggest is Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Their food is always great (the bread service is unquestionably one of the the best things on property) plus if you get a seat at our near the window you can see the animals on the Savanna. AKL is also my favorite resort to just walk around and experience. Not only is it beautiful and has the animals, but they often have free cultural events going on to.

Here's a vote for Kona Café at the Polynesian but be sure and make a reservation first. They are reservation only.

1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian (Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and the step sisters. And the step-sisters are a hoot)
'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast (Lilo & Stitch, Pluto, Mickey)

There is now Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge. We haven't tried it, however.

All the good suggestions have been made already! LOL!

I second the ideas in particular of:
1900 Park fare
Sanaa
Artist Point
Hoop Dee Doo Revue

for the reasons mentioned already....

We loved the Pirate & Pals Fireworks voyage! We did this with my niece and her children! It was fun for the adults, too!!:thumbsup2

Another vote for 1900PF! Great food and fun character interaction!

Another fun thing that we do with my niece and family is to go to Trail's End buffet for dinner(good value for Disney!)- then the kids have a blast playing at the playground and beach. We've also rented a pontoon boat and cruised around Bay lake and Seven Seas lagoon.! You can attend the nightly campfire, too!

There are trail rides and wagon rides at FW too. You can also just visit the stables.

The Fort has so much to do!! Love it there! We've rented a golf cart just to drive around. At holiday times, the RVers decorate their campers and area around! Amazing!!

Not a character meal but we love Raglan Road at Disney Springs. Good food and good entertainment with the Irish dancers!

As for character meals - We have not done it but recently saw a review of the storybook character meal -- The food looked good and the charceter interactions seemed great. Other options for different would be cal grill - so you could also see fireworks from atop the contemporary. Boma (Jambo) or Sanna (kidani) - at AK where you can do some animal viewing. If you plan those at the right time you can partake in the night time animal viewing or other evening activities. At DS Homecoming is a great choice - there are so many good options at DS.

Oh... I forgot about Raglan. Your daughter would probably love the Irish dancing. Get an early ADR, like 4:30. Ask for a table near the main stage and be prepared to wait for the table.
